A friend of mine is being bombarded by flies. What is a good remedy??

Flies don't like lavender. She can try a body mist spray...

1 tsp ethanol or vodka
1 tbsp witch hazel
4 tbsp distilled or filtered water
12 drops lavender essential oil
5 drops lemongrass "
5 drops citronella "
3 drops peppermint "

Mix everything in a dark glass bottle with a fine spray mister.

Thanks for the recipe Wildchild. They do like to bite at my ankles if rain is coming. And when we do take the odd weekend away (haven't this year :( ), we go up north where black flies can be a real problem.

I was just thinking of what might be a good herbal "pesky flies" deterent. Lavender is something I just happen to have in abundance in my herb cabinet. Now I have yet another use for it!!
