My sister is having a load of trouble and things just keep getting worse for her. Shortly before our beloved Dad died 1&1/2 years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and had a mastectomy. She opted for some experimental chemotherapy treatment (because it was free) and it damaged her heart. She recently had to have a shunt. Radiation therapy damaged her lung. She also is bipolar, and the drugs that used to help are no longer an option because of the heart problem: the drugs she takes now help little. She has developed blockages in her legs and they get very weak sometimes of a sudden, so that if she is in a parking lot at a drugstore or grocery she might have to sit down on the pavement. In spite of all this, her disability has thus far been denied and she is in danger of becoming homeless. She lives alone. Her grown children sometimes try to help her, but when she is in a "down" moodswing she won't answer her phone. They get mad.
My niece, her daughter, says she is just "trying to get attention, and I am fed up with it." She does do this but it's part of her bipolar disease, which I can't seem to get through to my niece. My niece seems to think she should treat my sister like an addict whom she is "enabling" if she helps her a lot.
My sister sought suicide intervention last October and I went to NC (12 hr drive) to care for her for a while afterward, and she got a lot better (moodwise) for a while.
I have been trying to get her on my cell phone without success, and my computer has been down for over a week because of moving so I haven't been able to contact her that way either. I am just soooo worried.
I just moved and am up to my eyeballs in trying to get my house in order here (west TN),
I couldn't even pack a bag right now until I find out which box it's in. I have a closing on my house on the 30th, so I will have difficulty in going there at once as I want to do. My anniversary is the 27th, so I hate to leave my husband this weekend. I feel like saying to heck with the moving and house-closing and even my anniversary, I'm going!!! And if I don't get word tommorrow from her I will. But if she's just being moody and stubborn, when I get there, I might just get mad at her too!
Sunday I talked to my mother who is blind so cannot drive over to see about my sister, but lives near my sister and her kids, and she said that my sister is answering the phone for nobody right now. I asked if anybody had gone there and knocked on the door, or even unlocked it and gone in to see about her, but no one has. If I am not able to get in touch with her by tomorrow I am sending the police there to check on her (and what a shame to have to do so with her own grown up kids right there in her small town!)
Meanwhile, please help with all the healing, helping energy you can send to my sister. And send energy for some understanding to be given to her kids about her condition. They both have computers and could look this up themselves, but I guess they have conveniently convinced themselves that this is all her fault...
