Class Syllabus

Lesson plan for my "Christo~Pagan" Class:

Lesson 1:
~ Brief Intro to the Historic Christianity.
~ Description of the Early Church - Gnostics & Johannine Community.

Lesson 2:
~ The Blessed Virgin Mary as a Pagan Goddess.

Lesson 3:
~ Jesus Christ as a Pagan Sun/Grain God.

Lesson 4:
~ The Wiccan Wheel Of The Year and how it is parallel to the Christian Cyrcle of the Birth, Sacrifice & Death of Jesus.

Lesson 5:
~ Pagan Symbolism in Today's Christianity (Holidays, Prayers & Saints).

Lesson 6:
~ Mary Magdalene as the founder of early Christianity compared to early Pagan Goddess oriented religions.


I still have a lot more to figure out about this class - I have a bit more research I need to do. I dont know how many people would be interested in it though, but I'll offer it anyways! I think that I'll do the same with this class, as I will with the Arthurian Legends one - I'll have one "big" research assignment at the end of the 6 weeks - Students can write about any subject they learned in class. And between lessons themselves, I'll offer an idea/question for the students to debate/talk about on the class' message board.
***I might decide to give students some meditations to work on, to communicate and/or pray to Virgin Mary/Jesus/Magdalene/Gods turned into Saints as assignments - but this wont be mandetory since I know some pagens may object that. But I'll offer it as an extra thing, if anyone will be interested, and they will be able to PM me their experiences or share them with the class if they want.***

Mmmmm... Brain candy... Yes! Must sign up! Especially with my background, it will be interesting to be able to think of these things outside the usual Patriarchal (only) system that I grew up with. Onward march!

I know what a stess exams can be (although college exams are prabably harder than high school exams). I want to join since I was orriginally a Christian. Confusing? Yes, I know, but I am a WICCAN and nobody, NOBODY can change that now. :yayah:

I don't know if anyone is even offering these classes anymore, but I am very interested in taking part in them. I am totally new to the Christian Witchery path. I am a Christian and have been most of my life, but I have always been drawn to wicca and earth based religion. If there is anyone out there still offering these classes, please let me know.
