Are you looking for the Norse or the Elizabethan kiind? I'm not sure about online sites, but you might want to do a search in the grandaddy of all SCA databases Stephen's Florilegium-- can't remember the URL, but a search will pull it up. One of my favorite books is a Dover (read cheap) one by Elisabeth Geddes and Moyra McNeill calledBlackwork Embroidery Its primarily reprints of Elizabethan patterns with modern techiques and dessigns thrown in.
Blackwork is really easy and pretty fun, good luck

I hadn't heard of this before. I did a Google search and found quite a few sites with free patterns. I've seen this stitching before but didn't know what it was called.

This is my favorite online Blackwork website. It's quite informative and has lots of free patterns. Don't know a thing about Viking blackwork, haven't run across in my research so can't comment there.

Also, do a search on the internet, like in Google, for "Elizabethan Blackwork" You'll find lots of links.

I just saw Van Helsing last night, and the leading lady's outfit was covered in red blackwork... Very interesting.. :)
