Over the past few weeks more or less, I've become very upset with this community in general.
I've been offended on several occassions, and a lot of people have been rude to me and to others I know here on the site whom I consider my friends.
I used to consider this place another home, and a place where I enjoyed conversing with people. Now all I get is criticism & people spitting in my face. There are people here who think they are hot & that everyone loves them - but they have an attitude that makes them blind to the fact that - NO - not everyone likes them, and that this very attitude hurts a lot of people in the process as well.
I refuse to be judged just for not being an American.
I refuse to have people tell me to "Deal with it" or that I'm too "submissive".
I refuse to be criticized by others who THINK they know it all - but really DONT know it all. And all they DO have is a different opinion then mine.
I KNOW other people on this board feel the same as I. But I really felt I had to say something about it. Regardless of the consequences or not.
I hope this makes others on here think, just a little, before they talk or make comments. Just to make sure they are not hurting anyone - intentionally or unintentionally.
And if you have nothing nice to say about this, then dont reply at all to this thread.
Also - Since I've been seeing a growing ignorance as to where Israel is, what kind of state it is and just what kind of clothing we wear out here (which is NOT god damn Burkas), I've decided to include some educational links. For future refrences.

I've never felt that way about you Morr! I've always thought it was neat that you lived in Israel and that your posts were insightful and thoughtful.
I'm sorry your feelings have been hurt. :geez:

My dear Morr. I will be the first to say I am completely ignorant of geography and know little of history outside of my own people. I will have to open that circle and learn that ALL are my people. I have opinions, but I know not all. I try to be helpful to all who give me respect, and try to respect all who come before me. America is a country, like any other. Yet, NOT like any other. We have really odd views of things here sometimes, and whilt we are ahead of some technologically speaking, we are behind many spiritually. Morr, I always look forward to your posts, for I get a feel of a different place and type of thinking. THIS is how we all learn. I feel bad that you feel this way. However, I feel good in the fact that you spoke up. Please accept my apologies for my ignorance..

I've seen some of the posts in question and thought that they were insensitive.
I really like you, I think your posts are interesting and you have big visions....like the MW Teaching Circle.
I'm very sorry that you've been offended. I'm here for ya!

I don't know if I've offended you or not. If I have I do apologize as well. As for where you live it matters not for me other then I do worry, because of the daily potential violence. And yes believe it or not I do think about it, and hence you daily. I worry about a lot of folks on here I barely know and rarely talk too because where they are currently. But I am not one of those Americans who think our sh!t don't stink and that everyone else in the world is primative.
I know I've posted a couple things to your threads, that could be considered "negative" to what you had said. The most recent was the "why" thread of course. My post was only intended to try to make you feel better. Not every guy who's gaze lingers on a women is being lewd. I tried to say I do agree completely with you that some lines just SHOULD NOT BE CROSSED. Calling out to you and whistling are amoung those things! What I didn't say is I agree too many men do this. I worked in a factory and the way women are talked about in such an enviroment is sickening. Most men just "talk" the talk, and go home and are perfectly reasonable people. However some are not. The problem the "decent" guys talk like a$$es with the real a$$es which only makes them think the behavior is ok for real.
You can believe this or not but I do what I can. I have done volunteer work for batered woman's shelters. Things like accompanying woman to their homes to collect their belongings, or being a "prescence" when they take their children to their astranged husband for a visitation. Belief this or not 90% of my dearest friends are women. They say 1 in 3 women will be raped in their lifetime. From what I know it's more like 9 in 10, because most women will only tell their closest friends. I am fearful everyday for my daughter's safty and life.
Morr, I am myself a HUGE flirt, and I can be raunchy about it at times. I have my post in just silly that reflect this. But they are in JUST SILLY, and I didn't start in until I could tell that a certain level it is acceptable in that fourm. I also only "flirt" in such a manner with women < well people I THINK are women  > who I am reasonable certain won't be offended. In short I try not to cross any lines, without being so PC that I'm draub.
I have nothing but respect for you Morr. I've said so in other post, and I'm saying it now to you directly.

I also think of you daily, and wish you safety. Every time I hear the word Israel, it is your face that pops into view. I try my best to keep informed about the world, and think of myself as a global citizen first and foremost, my address just happens to be in the US. That makes me neither better or worse than anyone else, anywhere else.

Morr;
I am sorry that you are being treated that way! Especially in a place where you would expect people to be understanding and open minded!
I have only been here a short time, and don't want to step on any toes... but I have seen the share of rude people out there, one person has made me feel like an idiot on two or three different occasions (and I've only been here 3 days!) So I in a sense understand where you are coming from!
I am sorry again.

Why not just use the "add this user to your ignore list" feature? That's why it's there.
 Frankly, I'm not concerned whether or not people find my opinions offensive. If you do, though, feel free to use the aforementioned feature.

im not going to ignore people based on one stupid comment they made.
And I'm not pointing any fingers at anybody here. I'm just raising an issue that I know has been bothering a lot of people out here. And I just hope my post made people think twice before they post what they have to say - on any kind of subject - and read it over. Just to make sure no one will get offended.
If SOME of us out here do make a point NOT to hurt others - even when they attack us - I think EVERYONE should make an effort to do so. Especially in such a community.

That's true. And I retract part of what I said above: I do care whether my opinions offend others, most of the time at least. :) And I try to make sure they don't. I didn't intend for my comment about burqas to be offensive, for example.
But the other thread, regarding the behavior of very few men, did frustrate me, in part because I don't know what to tell you, and in part because I've been the recipient of that very sort of behavior from women. When I was in high school, I had girls I didn't even know say things like, "I want to have your baby." I've had pagan women make comments about me that I took as compliments, even though I could have taken offense to the comments the same way you've taken offense to some men's comments.
My point in my above post is, there's a lot in this world that you can't do anything about. The only thing you have any real control over is your own behavior, and your own choices. Be responsible for those, and let the rest of the world take care of itself. :)

If you are being offended or feel as though someone is breaking a rule the best course of action is to report it, not to start a thread complaining about it. If you report it, it will get looked at, if you post threads like this, they will be closed. Which has the potential for a solution vs. more anger and possible hurt?
