Okay I've posted this one in the green room so you may or may not have seen/read it yet. Okay - here's the deal:
I've heard of alot of people connecting with the trees/earth faeries (spelling may be wrong hehe) But i can't seem to know how to do it. So, anyways, I decided to meditated sitting up against a tree one afternoon. I imagined the tree growing around me and me coming one with the tree. Nothing happened. I concentrated harder then I got this funny sensation like i actually was attached to the tree. It was almost like I could feel it's body humming with mine. I'm not really sure what happened. Was it my imagination (highly doubtfull!)? Or was a seriously connecting with the tree? I don't know so I'd appreciate your opinion! But all i know right now is that it was freaky.

No, it wasn't your imagination! Isn't it spectacular to feel a life other than yours intimately like that? My favourite way to meditate is up against a tree.

Why freaky? If you set out to interact with a tree and did, why would it surprize you? Especially if it was a positive interaction. If you petted your cat and your cat purred, would you be surprized? A tree is a living being and sent you a positive feeling---I think you would be pleased!
I think it's rude to interact with non-human entities and then react with eekiness when they answer back. Starting the communication stream gives us the responsibility to behave appropriately when communicated with.
But congratulations on successfully communicating with a tree. On re-reading this I feel that I might sound harsh, which is not my intention. Just mild irritation, not really directed at yourself, but at a general feeling. I believe that having non-mainstream beliefs necessitates accepting non-mainstream happenings right from the get-go.
I talk to trees, and I find it extremely enjoyable. I may worry a little about being crazy, but not during the actual communication; and I am careful to whom I disclose this interactive exercise for fear of being taken for a lunitic----but the tree communication is a good thing and not worrisome. Relax and Enjoy!

Please macha, just cause your tree spirit doesn't like you...
Seriously though, I agree with skilly-nilly. You shouldn't be surprised if you accomplish what you set out to do. I personally always say hello to the trees as I pass them by, and ignore the weird looks I get.

Although it's :fofftopic I am remended of a funny story:
For many, many years I have spoken to the Canadian Geese (I have always lived on flyways, providentially). I salute them and say, "A free life, Sisters"
(As a teenager, my son called me out on this practice as being sexist. He wanted 'brothers and sisters', but the scantion isn't right. His next suggestion was 'nieces and nephews' since, by now, the actual geese are the descendants of the origonal 'sisters'. We finally settled on 'cousins'. )
When my son was about 11, he was on an outing with a friend. A check of geese flew by, and he said, "A free life, sisters" . The mommy driving gave him an odd look and he asked (perfectly innocently) , "Don't you do that?"
Be that as may, geese poop on my husband's car and not mine at all which irritates him but he also obstinately refuses to address them except rudely.

Good story.

What I do is I stand and either touch or just watch the tree in question, then emulate it. I put myself in its situation and blend.

i love doing that it's one of my favorite pasttimes... they are so calming... there is this one tree (my friends and i call it mama :D ) anyway whenever you sit and meditate under it you feel this comforting embrace... it's sooo soothing... like you're being held by your mother after a long day and you just want the comfort...
it totally rocks!
and feeling a bit ooked after the first time talking to a tree... not that odd... the first time i managed to connect with one the tree was a dying one... so i literally felt it dying... i appreaciated it talking to me and all but it took 24hours for that feeling to go away... rather ooky... but a good ooky... if you ask me...

Yeah I do think that I shouldn't have been so surprised. But I was just so caught up in it I was so happy - but the sensation was so cool it was freaky for the first time. But next time I'll be calm! :) (Now that I know I'm not a lunatic! (joke) )
