My name is Mooncrow, I am new to the craft (as is my wife). We are seekers that are "recovering Christians" and have a few dilemnas.
1. We both have kids from prior marriages, none in common, but due to heavy Christian influences we must for now stay in the "broom closet" as it were, for surely there would be persecutions and reprisals from the exes.
2. We're finding that so many books claim to be the "only way" to practice Wicca, whilst claiming that we each must follow our own path.
3. absolutely unable to find any books regarding Wiccan couples, it's either Solo Practitioner or Coven , no middle ground.
hmmmph, enough whining......feel free to contact me privately if you feel that would be better.
Blessed Be!!!

Merry meet and blessings!
Staying in the broomcloset isn't impossible, even if it is uncomfortable. I was there for awhile :) Good luck doing so!
There is no "only way" to practice Wicca. Read books and websites and talk to other people and retain what you like from these resources, then build upon them if you like. If anyone tells you you're doing it wrong tell them where to get off :)
As far as practicing in couples, you might try doing stuff meant for covens but divide up the tasks (ie. you are temple summoner, God, and caller of air and fire, and she's maide, Goddess, and caller of water and earth), or just write your own rituals.

Start with books on the God and Goddess, then on magick. If you start of with them both its a little hard.

Welcome & Merry Meet! You may want to try some family books as well. I just ordered a book from the bookstore called: Pagan Parenting: Spritual, Magical & Emotional Development of the Child by Kristin Madden. A MW Book forum recommendation, BTW. I also have a book at home called "Wicca Family" but I can't remember the author right now (I'm at work shhhhh);)
I understand about being "in the closet" with your kids. I share a similar situation with my son's father and do not wish to rock the boat with him just yet. But I do little things here & there, and my son seems to understand it, or at least realize that there's more than one way to think about things. Of course, I'm the custodial parent, so I guess it makes it easier for me.
I wish you luck on you and your wife's journey's. Welcome to MW, it's a great place to learn and live and be yourself! :sunny: :heartthro
