Archangel Raphael info

Does anyone have some info on the Archangel Raphael? I found a prayer to him for healing in a book and I'm pretty sure he was the one who help heal the painful scratch on my eye a few days ago. I wanted to know more about him and a way or two to thank him properly. Can anyone help?

Raphael is one of the few angels mentioned by name in Biblical lore. The name Raphael translates to "God has healed". He is the patron angel of healing. Also he is the angel ascosiated with the element of air.

Raphael fiurst appears in the Aporchytal(Or however you spell it) book of Tobit wherehe teaches Tobias how to use every part of a huge fish as medicine. There are also many other legends about him such as it was Raphael who gave Noah his "medical book".

Raphael literally means "God has healed". If you go by the bible, Raphael touched Tobias's eyes in order to cure him, he banished the darkness and blindness. Given the right to heal, he is appropriately named "God's has healed". Raphaels tunic is richly embroidered to show his high status as an archangel. His cloak is green, the color of life and health. Raphael carries a staff in his left hand, the symbol of his status as a messenger from God. His right hand holds a fish whose organs were used for medicinal purposes in the Book of Tobit and is thus a symbol of healing.

Supposedly if you are in any sort of pain, or someone dear to you is, Raphael is to be contacted/prayed to/evoked. However you'd like to word it.
