Ok I think it should be noted that "soul mates" can include people who's souls you meet in many lifetimes and who aren't necessarily your significant other in this life.
For example, my group of friends feel we are all soulmates, and some have travelled to past lives and seen how we were in various lives. My two best female friends in this life were at least once my sisters, probably more.
But I know what you meant... sometimes I just point these things out. I'm a pain that way ;) I live with my fiance, and we're planning a handfasting for next October or the one after, right now (btw he probably also thinks I'm a pain in the rear ;)).

Hi all!
I'm single.I don't really go for the whole soulmate idea. That there is some person who is my mate lifetime after lifetime. The whole idea sounds kind of boring.I do think there are friends and family members etc that I've met in various lives, but not a single solitary person who is meant for me and me alone over all lifetimes.

I don't know about finding my soul mate. I'd just be happy to have someone that I got along with regularly (and didn't cheat on me! But that's another story!).
<sigh> maybe someday...

Hmmm, hard for me to vote on this one...
I'm with a wonderful man right now, yet I am reluctant to say I've found my "soul mate" as we've only been together since March of this year. But everything else screams that we're perfect for each other!! :) :) :) :D
So I guess I'm officially "dating the most wonderful, loving, and sexy man in the world." ;) How's that for a description? :D

Yuppers, as much as I want to strangle him somedays. :p  :D
I had sworn off dating after a "few" really cruddy relationships. Walked into a party, and *BAM* I knew he was the one I was going to marry. When we touch, just hands or a hug, I get a little jolt of energy from him, always have, hopefully always will. I feel that we have had a long history together, and with his mom too.
We have been married 8 years and together for 11 (this weekend :))

You're exactly right. Bonds with others can carry over lifetime to lifetime. I have a very, very dear friend whom I consider to be my sister, even though she's old enough to be my mother. She's very precious to me. :D

Well, I believe in more than one soul mate. (IMHO)
I am engaged, quite happily. But I am also polyamorus.

Same thing happened to me. Just like Chryssi, I gave up dating, then i was offered a blind date with a guy some friends knew. He called me a few times before we actually went out. Then, he picked me up for lunch one day, and I just knew he was it. That was nearly 2 years ago. :D :heartthro

Wyrdsister What are you doing with my sweetie!?!?!? Just kidding :D Naillosotarrain is a wonderfull warm witty caring compassionate loving fun generous man who I am happy to get to spend time with. We have been married a year this past Saturday and I truely think he's the greatest. Celtic_Angel and Tanna knew him before me and they are still amazed at the Diamond I found when I rubbed off the casing he was hiding behind.

Hmmmm... I'm happily married, but I have several "soul mates" - I prefer to call them kindred spirits. Not all of them are male, either. In fact my six month old daughter is one of them!

I belive in both kindred spirits and a soulmate,
the kindred spirits being family or friends ,the other a special someone you are a part of.
I met my soulmate in highschool, but alas is wasn't right for then .but I have my signifigant other, whom I love very much.
for me it was that jolt of energy before we even knew each other just a look ,and boom, touching was even more intense but felt right. I figure if not in this one thaan the next.

Married(10yrs) with 2 darling monkeys
We have our ups and downs...typical stuff:)
I used to think I had found my true soul mate, but now I am not so sure. We have a wonderful relationship, but we have both changed so much over the years that we are very comfortable with each other.(make any sense?)
Granted, I am not making any rash decisions because it could just be that we are in a rough spot. Been there before and we always pull through with flying colors.

In the spring of my senior year in high school (good night can it have been over 20 yrs ago??) I had become recently unnattached and the prom was dashing at me full tilt. While on a choir road trip I asked a young lady to go, she just about passed out (she was a sophomore) we went had a wonderful time. Over the course of the next three years we saw each other on and off (while I was in the Navy) then after coming home from the Navy I developed a problem with drugs, after about a year of this She decided to give me a wake up call (never do this to a Sag we never get it right) She told me we should stop seeing each other. Narcissist that I WAS isaid "ok" and went off to make many mistakes....to make a long story short (too late) after a failed marriage with 4 kids, and she with a failed marriage with 2 kids, we rediscovered each other 6 years ago, were married 4 and a half years ago, are blissfully in love (too the point of causing nausea in others) and have all 6 kids and a home together. She is also new to the Craft (she may even quit lurking on this site and register <register!!!!!!>) and we begin yet another step on our path together.
