I didn't really know where to put this post, but I thought that here would be as good a place as any. I've been kinda wondering about past lives and stuff, and how to find out about them. Someone once told me that using a birth chart would help, but I can't see how. The interpretaion I got of my birth chart just tells me about what I'm like now, with nothing about past lives at all. Is there some way I could find out about this kind of thing?

I'm with you Leander. I'd like to know how I can remember my past lives as I don't remember a single one of them. Somehow I wonder if I have even ever been reincarnated. Reincarnation is one thing I don't understand very well and I hope someone else will post soon and inform both of us.

I have a book called "how to uncover your past lives"... just one of those Llewellyn how to series books, by Ted Andrews and I'd really reccomend it to those of you in search of your past life history. Its very informative. There is a step by step guide to self hypnosis... I've never been able to do it. There are also instructions on how to make your own dowsing rods... (random)

There's always past life regression, if you can find a practitioner you can trust.

I do not think I have a past life yet. However, I feel in my heart of hearts that I would not want to know if I did. Somehow just getting on in my life today is hard enough.

I dunno if I like the idea of past life regression very much. I'm sure that a clever practitioner could make me believe I was Merlin or something and make me cough up an unbelievable amount of money to pay for it. Yeah, I think I'll definately not go that way...

Personally, I think the best place to start is with meditation. After practice and time you can learn deep meditation. You can open memories that way.
Sunset_winds....Ted Andrews book is a great place to start, I to consider it a good tool. Its wonderful at explaining and guiding even the newest person to the field of past life discovery.

If you have tarot cards, or even oracle cards, there's a number of spreads dealing with past lives at this link: Anja's Tarot (http://www.anjastarot.dk/spreads/pastlives/index-past-lives.htm)
Hope that helps! :)

this is something I have alot of interest in as well. Thanls for the information guys. Shanti, how long does it take to get into a deep meditation, general speaking? When I meditate I can only go for about 15 minutes. Its a little frustrating.

I didn't know where else to put this, so I hope it's ok that I post them here.
I have snippets of about 3 past lives...or anything that RESEMBLES a past life...
a) I remember being a young Chinese girl praying to a Buddhist/Taoist altar that was put up on a wall only to be hit by a car. The house that all this happened in looks the same as my old house, I don't know why. The weird bit is, she wasn't supposed to be hit by anything because there is a gate separating the house (where she was praying) and the road. I don't know why I remember this, but it seems to be one of my earliest memories.
b) Another "memory" that I can't quite shake is that I was probably swapped as a baby with some mystical creature (a malicious faerie?) and the "real me" is locked up in a closet. It's hot and red everywhere (kinda like Hell only...weirder.) I don't know if this is due to some stories I've read about faeries swapping babies, or if it's because my mum kept telling me when I was a kid that I must have been swapped because I'm so different from the family...heck, I don't even know why I remember this.
c) This sounds more like wishful thinking, but for some reason I think I was an Irish/Scottish witch (or at least a really sucessful magical woman). I have always, ALWAYS wanted red hair and green eyes, for no particular reason - and apparently that's a very Irish/Scottish trait. When I went to visit Edinburgh a few years ago I LOVED the place immediately; it felt very magical, it felt like somewhere I wanted to spend the rest of my life in. It's still my most favourite place in the world. Me and my sis did a walking tour of the place with a guide, the tour was based on ghost stories of Edinburgh...we passed by an area where suspected witches were supposedly drowned, and then out of the blue the guide looked at me, pointed, and said "You! You are a WITCH!" (I just squealed, but inside I was thinking "How did you know?" XD) For a while I had a strong fascination with bards. There is something up with Edinburgh, at least.
One of my relatives did a tarot card reading for me some time back about my past lives, and I was some sort of well-known successful woman who was the object of jealousy of many people and eventually died because of it. Or something. (sounds like me at some point in my life - jealousy from others "killed off" a part of me) It's all...very strange. o_O
I wonder if anyone has any insight into this? Any and all help appreciated, thanks! :D

I'm a beginning student of Kadnyas Astrology class so I don't know much yet, but the 12th house of your astrological chart sometimes gives the lessons you need to work out in this life that came from past lives.
I recall some things, but recalling in this life is IMO only to help you know what to get over that is a left-over emotion from the past. I think that's why we usually only get a few glimpses.
If you recall nothing, then, it may mean that you have a clean slate this go round! Dont mess it up!:smileroll
(:hehehehe: 'Course it could also mean there's a whole lot of bad Karma, and you'd rather not know so won't let yourself remember....You're in :ahhhh: Karmic Denial!*):crazylaug
*I just thought that up, now, don't let ol' Phi worry you none...:yikess:

A friend of mine (now in Arizona) is a hypnotist, and he helped me with mine. Perhaps this would work for you as well, but make sure it's someone you trust.

I've always had very brief and fuzzy glimpses of past lives for as long as I can remember, but about two weeks ago something 'clicked' and I was flooded with all these names and pictures and emotions and everything, and after talking with my teacher and a few close friends I was able to confirm some of my past lives, which is extremely weird, but very nice. So perhaps when you're meant to know it'll somehow come to you?

Hello, I wanted to tell you about a booked I am hooked on. Its "Past Lives Present Dreams" by Denise Linn. Its a great book and the meditation tapes that I got to go with the book are great. I've done a couple times and the second time I had a great result, I saw my spirit guide, and my totem. One of my past life meditaitons gave me a picture of an older woman alone and very content in life sitting in a huge study with books wall to wall ceiling to floor, then I shot forward and saw my death in the life. I requested a past life ready in the tarot forum and all the symbols of my reading were identical to my meditation and my feelings of that past life. Anyways its been a great tool for me I think it might be something you could appreciate as a beginner like me. :flowers:

Through twenty-eight years of dreams and two years of mediation I was able to uncover parts of my most recent past life: I know I was Vietnese (sp?), was at somepoint involved with torcher or torchered, killed in the Vietnam War, and was a man. (I was born in '75) Basically, starting when I was very young, I would describe odd re-occuring dreams to my father - who when I was 14, was able to figure out (through is own personal experience) that I was describing the Vietnam country side to a tee. The rest I was able to get through heavy meditation. The funny thing is that once I realized what I was, it made alot of my current personality traits make more sense. Thats the basics without getting into too much personnal detail and specific experiences. I do have to caution everyone - the process of finding out what/who you were can be distressful to say the least. (Again, not getting into specifics.) We are not all former Ceopatra's, Prince Valients, etc.

Try taking another look at your dreams. (Especially the ones that never did make sense.) Some times theres clues there. Also, are there any aspects of your personality that dont seem to fit your over-all character? (Strange likings/dislikings for certain atmospheres or places, does a certain language make you feel a particular emotion, do you react to specific situations in a non-logical manner, etc.) In my limited experience it seems that all the very little things added up to alot, but when they finally come together it all makes total sense.

I have recurrent dreams of being trapped in flames and everytime I try a past life regression I find myself burning all over and this snaps me out of my trance. I've never gotten past the flames, they stop me every time.
I'm also intensely cautious about naked flames... hmmm... I think I know how I died in my last incarnation...

I reading a book on to recall my past lives, i've only gotten half way with it. With school and work havent had much time to finish it. The reason for my quest was to find out more about myself and maybe find answers to questions. I use to have this reoccurring dream when i was younger that happened alot, this person in it i feel like i know but havent yet met. i was young when i had it so i guess it was more of a glimpse of the future or the past. I feel very strongly that when the time is right i'll find this person again.
