Have seen a bit about weather magick here recently, and it got me wondering..........
What happens if several people in the same small area all make a spell for different weather conditions?
Not trying to be flippant, it's a serious question.

~ahem~ Hmm... Weather can be very localized. I've experienced a terrible thunderstorm in the back yard, & the sun was shining & the birds singing in the front yard (yes, its true!). So each spell would probably affect up to the 'sphere of influence' of the next, limiting each spell's effective range. I hope that made sense to you, 'cuz it made my head hurt... :bad: :p :D
Let's just hope several people don't do this in the same room...

I've done a bit of weather stuff inasmuch as I've prayed that the rain would slow down or hold off till I could get to shelter. Very rarely tho, I wouldn't want to muck about with that stuff too much, just because of what you've already mentioned.

Thanks for the answers.
It could get a bit confusing - imagine you've just laid a new lawn and want heavy rain to help it 'take', and just over the fence your neighbour is having a pool party and BBQ so want it hot and sunny, and over the other fence they're having a toddlers birthday party and want sun, but not too hot!
Your rain would have to be VERY localized! hehe.

It can be. I've seen it. I've seen rain pour in the front of the house, and the sun be out in the back of the house. I've also seen it fall in a "checker board" pattern; that was cool!

This is my own Runic weather charm. I've incorporated the Runes with a direct weather connection.
You'll need: a votive candle, colored to your desired outcome (ie: yellow for sunny, blue for rain, white for snow, gray or silver for misty or foggy, etc), a candle holder, & something with which to carve the Runes onto the candle.
Cast your protective circle (see 'Practical Rune Magic I'). For this working, especially invoke Thor, God of Thunder, & Sunna, Sun Goddess. Using 'north is up', carve on the top of the votive as follows: east, Sowulo; south, Thurisaz; west, Hagalaz; & north, Isa. To speed the working, carve a Dagaz so that the two points meet at the candle's wick. Chant/sing/speak the names of the Runes as you carve them, thinking of the desired weather. Place the candle in the holder, light it, & let it burn 'til it's gone.
This charm can also be cut into wood, or written onto paper, but I find the candle method the most effective.
HOW IT WORKS: The Runes used in this charm are directly related to weather. Sowulo is the Sun; it's the embodiment of Sunna, the Sun Goddess. It's shape also suggests lightning. Thurisaz is thunder, & symbolizes the hammer of Thor, the Thunder God (lightning is the result of Thor throwing his mighty hammer at Giants & Trolls, & thunder is the result of the hammer striking said Giants & Trolls). It is the embodiment of Thor himself. Hagalaz is hail (the spring or summer thunderstorm) & sleet (the fall or winter storm). It is the Rune of Hella, Goddess of the Dead, who rules over misty Niflheim. Isa is ice & snow. These combined into a charm symbolize virtually every weather condition. Dagaz, when added, acts to speed up the working.
I used this once. It worked. That scared me badly enough that I've not used it since. As with all magical workings, use this responsibly. Giving your neighbor hail damage is a BAD THING, no matter how big of a jerk the neighbor may be!
As always, Good Luck, & Happy Runing!

We had our handfasting last year in our living room, instead of on the patio as planned. But we weren't let down; we felt blessed that the gods had saw fit to give us severe storms (complete with lightning, deluging rain, flash floods, high winds). It was great! We're "severe weather fanatics", you see ... :D

Last Sunday was our anniversary. We didn't have severe weather, but we had bad flooding and heavy rain ... It was a good day! LMAO!
I have a really good rain chant. But you have to be careful with it!! I'm pretty sure it's responsible (or partly responsible, the other party being myself) for almost eliminating a town in Northern Kentucky three years ago .... "For every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction", yanno!!

my personal suggestions for attempting weather magick type stuff:
take some time to tune yourself with your surroundings. learn to feel the vibrations that every part of nature makes. learn to feel the wind before it blows. if you can correctly line your energy up to connect with nature, nature just might do you a favor.
remember, everything can have a consequence. you can't just instantly MAKE something appear... well.. you might possibly be able to do that.. but that doesn't sound to advisable. You can for the most part, only work reliably with what is already there.
keep in mind that nature has it's own special balance. although sometimes it's obvious that it NEEDS to rain, or it really is TOO hot, or TOO cold, or TOO rainy... and we wish we could do something to alleviate this, keep in mind that using any force to alter the weather patterns might not work out the way you'd planned.
Also, do some research on how weather works. It's always good to have a FULL understanding of what you are trying to work with. Little things like a few degrees in temerature change can make a BIG difference in outcome.
In closing, be careful. In all honesty, nature is something to respect and admire, not to twist for our own selfish needs or wants. Cultivate your "relationship" with nature and remember to make efforts to give back what you may take from her.
blessed be, and all that shiny stuff.

can be very dangerous...... and Lucidia is exactly right when she says you really have to be attuned to the earth and the elements.
My personal feeling is that your effectiveness is directly related to your attunement.
And sometimes you are superceded by what ever needs the earth has and what ever cycle is in operation. One of my many "adopted children " is a graduate chemist and almost finished her PHD {natural platinum blonde how about that)hehehe and she and her boyfriend stayed with me for a few semesters a few years back and he was studying meteorology, and computers, and I learned a bit then, very interesting stuff. I dont really do much in the way of the weather magic because I feel that the Goddess has the ultimate view and trust the Mother as well .......but a small cool breeze on a hot day , or a warm air current on a freezing one ..... hey :>

weather magick works great BUT always be clear about what you want (be careful what you ask for) We had a big weekend outdoor festival here this spring two full days
outside in a state park with a river fed pond...wonderful location
we asked for sun, and no rain a few clouds to keep it cool and that is what we got
But by the first night we also got a LESSON. and a very big one!
Want to guess close your eyes quick before you read ahead.
No one not one of us asked about the wind, and we got wind gusts up to 40 mph
blowing over tables, chairs, gates, canopys, people you name it.
We asked Sundayam for a blessing and shelter from the wind and of course it was granted, and the lesson was well received by all!
So just be Clear in your intention.
love hope
