has anyone ever had their patron just i dunno make some sort of noise instead of speaking? Cos for hours last night, and today, i've been hearing this low, guttural growl from a crocodile (which isn't surprising since Sobek (see my av) is one of the Gods i work with), but it's more than just the noise. This is gonna sound weird, but that growling almost resonates with my soul. Like, it's very calming and relaxing, and it speaks to me. Like i understand what it's saying when i hear it, but then, i think, hang on, it's growling, how is it saying anything? I'm not complaining about it or anything, i'm just asking whether anyone else has had similar experiences, maybe not with Sobek, but with other deities perhaps.

listen to what your soul says. lol, there's no reason why you should be considered mad, especially considering the deity you work with primarily. sounds awesome that you can relate with him/her on that level, i haven't found my deity yet!

it's amazing, i just have this urge to lie down next to a crocodile, just to hear them breathing and growling. it's such a primeval thing, yet so awesome i can't fully explain how much it affects me.

I guess its a similar thing to peopel chanting OM .... and that seems to worl for a lot of people. So I don't see it as mad at all

it's like that, but then completely different. I've never had this kind of interaction from the gods til now. Before, i could just sense their presence, and i never heard them speak to me. Now, i've got this growling in my head (from Sobek), and an immense feeling of love for Aset. It's incredible.

I often hear the sound of the ocean, or the sound of wind in the trees..another sound i sometimes hear, faintly, is a crow squawking at me...its not in a tree outside, tho we have plenty there...its actually in me head...i like it... :floating:

To me it is the sound of a cat sometimes... this "I feel well"-sound I know from my 2 cats, but somewhere in my head and in my heart with a divine warmth... Sure, it´s Bast...

I've been 'growled' at by Sekhmet when I refuse to do something I really should (Usually in the standing-up-for-myself-or-others category) usually accompanied by a mental image of a less-than-amused motherly figure. Also, a purring sound in my head when I try to sleep sometimes (I imagine Bast or a calmer Sekhmet, although They never clarify...). I've gotten 'feelings' that portray messages without words from Them before, and yet, I always seem to know what it means.. so, no, this doesn't make you crazy ;)

I can tell you that Spitit animals do this... It may be a warning grunt or just a 'turn here' type thing.... being in tune has its...oddities

you know i never thought of spirit animals, specially considering two of my deities have animal heads (a crocodile (Sobek) and an ibis (Djehuti)). there are plenty of animals in the kemetic religion.

Well, you see... I am always trying to find similarities in things... So, if I wre to say in my opinion that that idea might be like native american... you would understand.. Not that it is... perhaps that little section... I do that a whole bunch...

I can't say I've ever really heard noises like that. But, then again, I've never worked with any gods closely for more than a year. And, this past year, it's been even less so. I'm glad you've found yours and hope they continue to bring you enlightenment.

ahhh i think thats wonderful. i dont believe ive ever experienced that before, there have been times when ive heard dogs howling or growling or whinning that intsantly made me think of hecate, but then i usually relate it to the fact that there are 4 dogs in my small house alone, and probably 50 other dogs in the neighborhood and all of them like to make a big rukkus at any hour of the night. i dont really know which it would be..
im not sure about the noises but i have seen things.. all the time i see things that i associate with hecate or medusa...standing in the middle of my room doing leg exercises and all of a sudden there are snakes surrounding me..that kinda thing used to really freak me out...i thought i was going mad too but i know i wasnt..they were just trying to get my attention
so of course your not mad...all of us have something like that happen to us at some time..one of the perks! hehe its good to know your comforted by it though, i know if out of nowhere i heard a croc growling at me i would probably freeze and pee myself lol
