Well, my family (minus mom) went to the store to get her some flowers. My sister saw green roses (green roses, imagine THAT!) and I saw orange ones. We both HAD to have them for Mom, so Dad just bought two dozen of each and had them put into a nice vase. Then we bought the materials to make ice cream and a nice spaghetti dinner for her. My dad makes the GREATEST spaghetti dinner on the planet, I swear. Then we checked out the jewelry counter and got her some nice white gold earrings. We also each got her a card (my brother, sister, and myself) and wrote nice things in them. That's what we PLANNED.
Well, it didn't work out all that great. She loved the roses, which was good. She loved the earrings, which was great. So far the ice cream has been a bust. Somehow my dad got mad at my sister and I so she fled to her room and I ran to the den, cleaned up, and then ran to my mother's room and cleaned up everything. I think she's having a great Mother's Day, regardless of the ice cream probably being a bust...
So... what did you do?

I cleaned the house while my SO planted some trees. The kids ran in and out. Then I cleaned the baby ducks brooder cage. Then I went outside and planted some flower seeds. Then I cleaned the yard. Tonight I will cook super and clean the kitchen, again, then give the kids a bath.
Oh, I snuck in a shower when everone else was pre-occupied!!

Nothing really special for you as a mom!?!?!?! That's not fair. I hope when I'm a mom, I get to at least sleep in on Mother's Day and be a bit lazy.

We kidnapped my grandmother and took her out to lunch. My mother and son spent the night at g-ma's house last night, as well as my uncle and his wife. Me, my daughter and husband drove down this morning. So we had 3 generation of moms together.
I gave my mother and g-mother some lotions and soaps that a friend makes, as well as school pix of the kids. My kids made me cards, but my daughter isn't a morning child so there was no breakfast in bed for me!
On the way home we went by a friends house, he has a vintage iron business and my husband had asked him to find me a CAULDRON!!!
That's what I got for mother's day, and it's beautiful :)
I'll post a pic after I get it cleaned and blackened.

I met mom and dad for breakfast. We chatted and laughed for a couple of hours.
I gave my mom two of Pele Rising's wonderful homemade soaps. Which Pele, my mother LOVED!
I gave my both my sisters, my ex-sister-in-law and my sister-in-law each two bars of Pele Risings soaps. Which again were greeted with "oohs" and "aahs". Pele saved me from the "sisterly" dog-house this year!
Then I worked for several hours and sucked up to my dogs because I ripped them off on their walk this morning to meet my early morning rising mother at 8:30 am. :D

We went to..... *wait for it*.... drag boat races. Same thing as the cars, quarter mile distance run on water as fast as possible. I must love my husband. ;)
Friday, I had date night, sans my two daughters. We went to see Van Helsing and hubby bought my selected armful of pagan books from the bookstore. Life is good :)

Well, husband was out of town for my bil's wedding, so it was me and the 3 wee ones... Meggie, my 5 year old gave me a butterfly she made at school..
Then, Steven, my almost 3 year old, wasn't told to do anything special, but when I opened his door this morning for breakfast, he ran out and said, "Look Mommy!! I got a rock for you!" He handed me a rock, and it brought me to tears, cuz he was so sweeet!!
I called my Mama and talked to her for a few minutes, but she had to rush me off of the phone, cuz she was going to see my Gramma today..
Then, I called husband, he didn't acknowledge it was mother's day..
Last night, I started a roast in the crock pot, and added the veggies this morning, cuz I had to pick husband up from the airport around dinner time (didn't think I'd feel like cooking after 6:30)... I picked him up, listened to him moan and groan about his poor pitiful life.. hmmmm..
then, we ate dinner and I put the kids to bed.. oh, and husband asked me a million times after dinner what was wrong (why I had such a long face), and I told him that I knew i wasn't getting anything for mother's day, not even a card, but I had thought he'd at least tell me Happy Mother's Day.. So, THEN he said, "Happy Mother's Day"... yay.. wonderful day.. grrrrrr..

Well, Ma opened her gifts this morning: chocolate and coffee. Mmhmmm.
In the afternoon, we played a game of euchre (she and Crystal won), and then we all went for a walk. Pa ordered in chinese, which he picked up on his way home from work.
Ta da! nothing spectacular.

I think that my mother had a nice Mother's Day. We had a fun pool and bbq party at my cousin's house filled with yummy foods. It's always nice to see my family and tell my mom how much I appreciate her.

Don't you just love them sometimes?
I adore mine, wouldn't want him any other way. In truth I believe the hectic, stressful, hair pulling lifestyle we have makes being Mom ten times better. But oh, some days, you just wanna brain their dense thick skulls. :bangyourh
I keep reminding myself, it'll be fathers day soon. Mawahahahahah!!!

*laughs* My mom got what she wanted - a 7 am breakfast at her fav. restaurant... with all of us. *raises eyebrow* If it were me - I'd want a day away from me and my brother lol. But no complaints lol. And we started to paint the kitchen for her (sage green - even if it does look blue lol)

I got cards with "hidden messages" from my girls and a plaster handprint from my oldest boy...and got to "sleep in" until 7 from my baby!
Then we all went to lunch with my mom and her mom. A 4 generation lunch that has never happened before because we are usually 3000+ miles away. It was great!

I sent my mom an ecard. Then I went out of town to buy a new pair of shoes. Came home and my kids were at someone elses house cleaning, while they left a sink full of dishes here. :grrrrr: Then they said that they were going to have supper over there, but I was welcome to join them. Bah, I just went to bed. Thanks for a wonderful day kids! :wah: :whatgives

I watched the premier of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone on ABC with my parents, drew my mom a picture .. and that's about it. She seemed happy though. But she told ME "Happy Mother's Day" when I don't even have kids. O_o
