I'm not posting the pic, because our scanner's out of commission, and I'm a little embarassed. On the heels of the "would you pose nude" thread, my husband had final projects for his classes due this week, and your's truly ended up as a model for one of them. He did a seated sketch of my back he titled "Willendorf."
Didn't know whether to be miffed or thrilled. While I adore the venus, and I am more than a little robust (as well as still dealing wth bfing and post pregnancy fat) I'm not certain that I like him pointing it out so blatantly. Oh well, it's a beautiful picture and he already had an offer to sell it-- he's a talented guy. Guess I'll just have to take it as a compliment.
So, anyone know where I could get more venus of willendorf stuff? I know I saw a t-shirt once, but statues, jewelry etc. would be cool. I figure I'll embrace this totally, after all what woman doesn't want to be a goddess?

Can we please see it? If you don't want to post it publicly, when your scanner or something is up, can you email me a copy of the pic?

Put self-conciousness aside and be proud of yourself, whatever you look like!

When I took an art history class, the teacher went on and on about how Ruben's women were hideous and disgusting... took a lot not to make a big mes sof his class and show just how similar in body type women my size are to them. Add in going to the museum and finding the only paintings that moved me were those ones.

Be brave! You did the hard part of posing already!

Of course he does-- he married me! I'll have to see what I can do about scanning this-- it's kind of big. Guess I could take a pic, it wouldn't give good definition, but you'd get the idea.
