This spread can show you your strengths, in general or in a specific situation :)

Shuffle the deck and lay out the cards as below.

Card 1: This card represents your greatest strength, which can be something of which you are quite conscious.

Cards 2 and 3: These cards are other strengths you have, that maybe you are not taking into account. All of the first three cards represent strong roots, things you can draw on, that will nourish and support you and form a good base.

Card 4: This represents a possible weakness, an area that perhaps needs some shoring up, that could be strengthened.

Card 5: This card represents an area where flexibility is needed, an issue or attitude or situation where you need to bend and let things flow, where a different kind of strength is needed.

This one was really enlightening. It gave me some trouble at first, but I think I have a handle on it. :)
1: Lake
2: Peace
3: daughter of Water
4: Strength
5: Son of Air

Okay, so I'm getting that my strength comes from my love. And I admit that when I care about something, I tend to throw myself into it completely. 8O The second card was Peace, and I think another strength of mine might be sensitivity towards others. The thrid one was Daughter of Water, which I think shows my Third Eye opening, started to surface, and me starting to draw strength from that.

Now, the fifth card gave me trouble, because according to the spread, my weakness was Strength. <---Me. So I drew a clarifier, which was Meteor. Still nothing. Drew another clarifier. Father of Fire. And then I think it clicked. I think it means that I'm too caught up in resuming the image I show to others, while inside I'm so conflicted, and hiding it just makes the hurt grow.

The Meteor card shows two faces arguing, with a figure in the background trying to break out. The Father of Fire shows a figure on a throne, regal, followers below.

So this was really eye-opening for me, and thank you muchly for sharing it. :)

Thankies, Silv!

I plan to work this one when I wake up a bit more, looks like an excellent spread and I already have something in mind.

1. 3 of Staffs
2. King of Staffs
3. The Moon
4. Ace of Swords
5. Judgment

Lots of major arcana here. I've never pulled the Moon card of this deck before!

Ok card 1 - my greatest strength - staffs represent knowledge to me. The 3 could represent Maiden, Mother, Crone, or God, Goddess, All, and to me symbolizes my knowledge and dedication to my spirituality. Not sure about this card, but...

2 and 3 to me again show knowledge or intelligence and spirituality. The Moon could also represent femininity and feminine strength.

4 - conflict? strength? Ability to stand alone in conflict? Ability to believe in my own strength? According to the book this card represents power - maybe I should remember my own power, or maybe I've misused it. Not sure. This reminds me of the other day when I frantically called Matt at work because someone was coming into our apartment - they were painters wanting to paint our door and there had been signs up to warn us but I didn't know and lost it. Matt didn't mind me calling him but told me he thought I could take care of myself. Maybe I should not let my first instinct be to run to him but also to consider my own strength.

5 shows Judgment. My judgment of others or a situation? Or the fact that I have to judge and balance out and measure all situations instead of letting things flow - that's probably it.

Great spread, kinda neat!

Per your request for a reading I thought this the best spread. Below is a small description of each position copied from original post and the card and interps that I drew for you.

This spread can show you your strengths, in general or in a specific situation

Ok right off the bat, while shuffling I got a big old jump out card. It jumped way out too...out of the deck and onto the floor where it promptly hit Ozzy on the head and made him scurry off feeling wounded. I never ignore these but usually wait until the end of the reading to try to see where they fit in. So I will get to that later.

Card 1: This card represents your greatest strength, which can be something of which you are quite conscious.

The Wheel of Fortune: I would say you are very intuitive and fully comprehend "coincindences" in life. You know that the wheel turns up as well as down and you readily embrace the bad times as well as the good. Interestingly enough if we had no bad times than the good times would seem so much duller to us, don't you agree? This card can often represent that the wheel is about to turn up. New beginnings or a run of good luck, or simply some closure to a painful situation may be close at hand for you. I am hoping for the latter in relation to the question you posed regarding this reading. Sounds like a good sign for some positive healing to me. And what better way to rejoice in that newfound lightness than to share it. This could be the start of something beautiful.

Cards 2 and 3: These cards are other strengths you have, that maybe you are not taking into account. All of the first three cards represent strong roots, things you can draw on, that will nourish and support you and form a good base.

Card #2: Two of Wands: This card shows a man who stands between two wands holding a miniaturized world. He is obviously successful, yet he looks bored, as if he has nothing else to do now that he has conquered the world. The fact that he is successful and there are two wands leads us to conclude that he is a strong partner and does very well in communications and all dealings with individuals. This sounds like a strength you could possess. However you have to be careful not to get too "bored" with common situations and turn them into something more exciting. Not saying that is the case with your situation, as I don't know nor care about all the details. I am only suggesting that this may be a possibility. Of course this is something you alone can determine.

Card #3: The Sun: Great strength card. It screams of confidence! I can see this clearly in the very manner in which you conduct yourself. With this confidence comes peice of mind. You can and usually do take everything with a grain of salt. Noone can say or do anything to make you feel unsure of yourself. However in light of the previous card you may tend to get bored with this. Maybe someone says something to you or does something which really doesn't hurt you because of your strength, yet you go with the attack stance for something to do. Make sense?

Card 4: This represents a possible weakness, an area that perhaps needs some shoring up, that could be strengthened.

The Two of Swords: Again this falls in line with the rest of the reading. This is a card where a woman holds two swords, carefully balanced in a cross in front of her. She wears a blindfold that I feel she put there herself. She is choosing not to deal with emotions that make her uncomfortable. It is a precarious balance as one gentle push could send her tumbling into the choppy waters behind her. When we try to avoid emotions we paradoxically become over emotional. On a symbolic level this card represents a disagreement between two (2 swords) people who simply need to agree to disagree and let bygones be bygones. The disagreement will likely never have an amiable solution. The best for both parties is to let go and move on. I feel this is a strong message for you. By holding on to the pain and anger you are only allowing yourself to be put in danger of falling. Also with those swords crossing your heart it makes it hard for anything to get through. I feel this is a good example of one weakness you could work on and benefit very much from doing so.

Card 5: This card represents an area where flexibility is needed, an issue or attitude or situation where you need to bend and let things flow, where a different kind of strength is needed.

Seven of Swords: In a nutshell this is a card where the man is trying to steal the swords of his enemies so they can't hurt him. It is a bad idea as he cannot carry away all the swords. It is an attack before you get attacked mentality and it is a dangerous game. It is in your nature to protect yourself, as it is with most people, yet this card, in this position is telling you that needs to stop. There are better ways of protecting yourself. Draw from your other strengths mentioned above. Sometimes the best defence is no defence at all. In the long run you will be more at peace and literally unable to be touched if you rely on the strengths you have and avoid this situation alltogether.

Now for the jump out card of Temperence. I find this very interesting just how very much she does fit into the rest of the reading. This is a card of balance above all else. A definate compromise is needed. Whether that be for you to agree to disagree or to try and work things out with the other party...not sure. I find that usually folks who get so angry and emotional with each other often started off as friends. Don't know if that is the case here. Whatever you decide to do, remember balance is the overall theme of this reading. Don't overdo the apologies and sugar coating as that will likely backfire. Just agree to let the pain end now and refuse to accept anymore. Period. This means, as I see it, that no further posts regarding the issue are necessary for your healing. You need to look within and heal yourself via your great many strengths. I know you can be successful with this and you will feel as though a burden has been liften because you no longer accept it's presence as necessary. And if you find yourself getting bored....(blasted two of wands!!lol!!!) focus more on the great artwork you so generously share with us each time you post. You have a real gift my friend.

Oh incidentally one of the books I have relating to the hidden meanings in a reading discusses the occurence of two cards with the same numeric value or suit. You had both two number two cards as well as two sword suits. I thought it an interesting interpretation of this occurence so I am including it verbatim...take it as you want or don't take it at all.

It is from The Tarot Companion by Tracy Porter:

"When two cards of a common number or suit appear in a spread, it usually indicates that two people or circumstances are likely to be involved in the outcome. This generally refers to two people getting together to form a union or partnership of some kind."

There it is girl!! I must admit this was one of the most exhilerating readings I have done in quite some time. Let me know if it helps. Just remember please don't post any details about the particular situation, as that is between you and the other party and has no place in a public forum. Thanks! Good Luck!!

What a GREAT reading .. thank you so much ,
It can be difficult to be objective sometimes , but when someone else lays out the cards , sometimes things just pop into place :>.
Let me show you how accurate you are....
First of all THREE major Arcana ...... do not IGNORE this reading ! Deep and lifechanging issues are involved
#1 Wheel of Fortune....
the card of moving on...timing , the wheel is turning , the cycle has changed .....I feel that very strongly
#2 The Two Of Wands...... Goddess I do get impatient ,,but I know this card, and I know what to do when I see it.... and it speaks to me of much patience, that time is workings its healing and growth is happening...
#3 The Sun.. the Love and True Happiness in my life, and the source of great strength
#4 The Two Of Swords..... the decision is mine the swords can cut either way, and
interestingly enough, is the name of my online home community Crossed Swords, and that is where my own astrology forum is (come on over sometime we are a warm and welcoming group of long time online friends )
#5 Seven Of Swords.....good card for making decisions on actions, and protection is exactly what I have been striving for and with good reason, however this card for me has always kind of represented going to someones level , and what doos that accomplish?
And last but not least the "Jump card"
Temperance... which is a really incredible card! ......has to do with Alchemy and transmutation of energies ,changing the energy of a situation ...... I was discussing with a woman on paltalk just last night about this very thing , changing the feel of the energy of a situation, so again accurate and to the point!
Beautiful reading..... and has much to do with CHANGING that energy , divination as magic....wouldnt you say ? :>.I am deeply grateful.
SOOOOO when are you coming to astrology to let me do your chart??
Love and light

Hiya hun, heres your reading.. I asked how will Emy's transfer go!
This spread can show you your strengths, in general or in a specific situation

Card 1: This card represents your greatest strength, which can be something of which you are quite conscious.
~ Eight of wands ~ This is a really good card for ambition and drive aswell as getting things done quickly and getting on with actions! I think you are a very passionate person who knows what she wants and how to get there in life. You are a very good hard worker and very quick and precise in all that you do. You hate leaving things for tomorrow or later and have to get them done now and on the spot. This is your winning formula which drive you as well as bringing you allot of confidence, happiness, accomplishment and success.

Cards 2 and 3: These cards are other strengths you have, that maybe you are not taking into account. All of the first three cards represent strong roots, things you can draw on, that will nourish and support you and form a good base.
~ Six of Swords and the Ten of Pentacles..
Its interesting that you have all four suits in this reading.. These are very different cards but have played a very similar game in building you very strong and courageous. The 6 stands for self recovery and inward looking ~ so I think from this there has been some hurt in the past which has been hard and long to get over but you have and have come out on top and more than probally use this experience to draw upon and succeed now. This is a stregth as you have learnt and grown from this experience.
Also I think travel and moving house (maybe) is a very strong point and teacher for you... again your moving for your teacher course ~ this indicates that it will go very well.
The ten stands for family and wealth so I think money hasnt really been a problem at all in your life and has not affected your choices as a person. Youve had a very loving family with a good background and morals. Which have taught you to be self dependant, hold high morals and be a success.

Card 4: This represents a possible weakness, an area that perhaps needs some shoring up, that could be strengthened.
~ Knight of Cups ~ This is deffiantley somehting to do with your love life.. but Im not sure what.. some past hurt? Or some mis-trust? or it could be that sometimes you are very emotional, sensitive or inward looking.. but I dont think this card is that important to you right now.. Maybe this is there because you have to move and go away and will therefore miss family and friends a little.

Card 5: This card represents an area where flexibility is needed, an issue or attitude or situation where you need to bend and let things flow, where a different kind of strength is needed.
~ The Lovers ~ again normally a love card.. is there somehting going on with your love life right now? If not this still stands for an emotional choice ~ so maybe you will have to make one soon ~ either with your new course or with your life in some way. This card is saying that you will have to choose and should you with your gut feeling, your heart and not your head.. or your head and not your heart ;) You will know the right choice when it comes and what to do.

OO are you moving away from your guy? and worried about the distance (or am I just putting my life into this reading ;))

Emy

Thank you!

Oki for the first three cards I can see what you mean clearly... lets take them one by one...

Card 1: No surprises to me here... although, hmm I am pretty good at putting up somethings for tomorrow, boring things like, doing laundry and stuff ;)

Card 2: Well as for travel I just moved here a few months ago with my boyfriend... not much more to add here...

Card 3: I do feel I have a strong bond to my family, and that I have gotten a good solid foundation from them as for morals and stuff... however, money, hmmm well as a student money does trouble me every now and then, fortunatly my live-in boyfriend is working.

Card 4: hmmm well this card makes little sense to me. I don't think it has to do so much with my love life, but more to do with the fact that I am a sensitive person, and I easily get hurt, especially by those who are close to me, in the sense that I feel I don't always do as good as I should or could. (my personal card is the chariot ;) so you see where that comes from).

Card 5: the lovers, hmmm actually it makes no sense at all, I think I have a great love life, I am really happy. I am not sure about the choice part either... guess it will make sense to me eventually. :)
and eeehmmm if there is something going on in my love life, hmmm don't know, maybe, but then I think it is only in a positive way :)

Anyways I am not moving anywhere, I am not moving away from my boyfriend at all, we had to live separate for awhile this spring when I studied in Malmo in sweden and he lived here 650 km away, and I am not about to do anything like that again, 'cause it wasn't fun at all.

Anyways, thank you soooo much for the reading! :) It was really interesting. Let me know if you want me to return the favour. :)

Brightest blessings

Ok I was putting way to much of my life into your reading I think! The last two cards did throw me and I wasnt sure about them at all...
Thanks for the feedback ~ I can see from the 8 of wands how the Chariot would be your personal card! & I didnt mean the Lovers as a negative influenece at all I saw it as a positive card with you making the right choice. So Im sorry if I touched on the wrong note with your bf, I didnt mean too at all.. I just meant to say that theyre may be a big choice coming up soon :D

I will do you a reading now for your new teachers course in the short Celtic Cross spread.
Thanks for the offer :) If you want to do me a reading in return just jump in.. Im always open to new insights!

Don't worry about reading in to much of your own life into the reading, it is easily done.
About the lovers card, hmmm I got an idea about what the choice might be *giggles* well, and well if I am right it is absolutly a positive card. Ohhh I can't tell you what my guesses are, but really if I am right, it is good news definitly and you'll be the first one I'll tell :D

Bright blessings

and I'll love to do a reading for you, I'll PM you when it's done, might not be until tomorrow, gotta go to the library now, and then it is my boyfriends birthday today, soo... :)

Hello!
I decided on the Strength spread after you said the strength card was your fav! :)
Hope this makes sense to ya ...

Card 1: This card represents your greatest strength, which can be something of which you are quite conscious.
~ The Magician! ~ You know what you want and exactly how to get it. You can be very open and social if you want to but also you love to be alone and very private were you learn and create. You also have a very good ability to create change in your life and adapt to change I feel. You control your own life and have mastered many skills with this control. You can also tap into many things spiritually and feel energies very well as the magician is the master of universal force ~ nature!

Cards 2 and 3: These cards are other strengths you have, that maybe you are not taking into account. All of the first three cards represent strong roots, things you can draw on, that will nourish and support you and form a good base.
The Hermit and the 5 of Pentacles ~
Now these are interesting because they fit very weel with the magician in a way of privacy.. Both these cards are about internal wisedom and self exploration. One is wise and strong, the other is not so sure about being alone but still going onwards with his journey to succeed.. these are your strengths and great ones too! You like being alone and work best alone ~ this has worked from an early age, and I get that a big happening made you retreat a little into yourself to blossom fully with yourself. You are very sure of yourself, beliefs and your life which is brilliant isnt it.

Card 4: This represents a possible weakness, an area that perhaps needs some shoring up, that could be strengthened.
The hanged man ~
I get that although everything is great you may have to sacrifice something in order to go on.. or you may be sacrificing things too much??
This is a tricky one for me as it could be either or both.. I get the feeling that you do allot for others and maybe this is hindering you in some way. Or you do things by a set order and fixed way.. maybe you have to look at these ways and decide whether they are the best way or is a new way better and moving your even more forward with your path in life. Maybe you should sacrifice the old so more positive activities come into play.

Card 5: This card represents an area where flexibility is needed, an issue or attitude or situation where you need to bend and let things flow, where a different kind of strength is needed.
Queen Of Swords ~
Now she is a cooler, sterner woman than you by a long shot I think ~ maybe someone is taking advantage of you (Hanged man) and you need to adapt a few new qualities to go further?
You have quite a few of her qualities already (Air qualities) I feel, she stands for communication, intelligence, cool, calm, and power.. does any of this ring true? If not maybe you need to be more cool and calm ~ not so emotional and stand up to someone/people.. if it does ring true maybe a softer touch is needed somehow in your life... but I dont think thats true ~ I think you maybe need to adopt more of her qualities ~ to make your voice heard, to stand up for your beliefs and to be clear about your own wants and needs.

Does that make any sense to you hun?

:smooch: :smooch:

Ooo & I forgot to pull a rune!! So Ive just pulled Gebo! Gift and luck! I smiled at this and thought (as it looks like a kiss) its a kiss and a cross to mark what Ive just said (in your reading) and to remind you that luck is on your side!!!
