Oh, what can I say, my life always has something going on. Not only was my 10 year old son suspended from Summer Camp for a few days for flushing a child's head down the toilet, but last night my husband and I discovered that someone has been not only been stealing our mail, my candle/soap packages (10 of them), Husband's credit card mail, and also they have been taking the items into the basement hanging out, and stolen some of husband's jewelry given to him by his mother and father, one of them being a man's horseshoe-shaped ring with diamonds inset. We had the police over until 1:00 a.m. This morning we found more remnants from our basement in the condo parking lot next door. Apparently, these person(s) are coming into the basement through the back entrance on a daily basis hanging out, reading playboy magazines (no not my husband's!), and wrote on a Step-Parenting book cover my husband had "F*!@@@ YOU B$#*CH" in red marker. They also spray painted red junk on the wall and spray painted some paperwork kept in a file cabinet. We are not sure what other things are missing, and will be cleaning up the basement tonight. We believe it is the couple of kids that live in the Condo's up against our back yard. One of these kids I found whacking golf balls in our back yard 3 weeks ago toward the house on the other side. When I went outside, he had at least 40 holes in the yard from him whacking the ball. I told him that he could not do that in our yard. This morning, we went to the Condo parking lot to find my husband's CBS Television golfing tee's in the parking lot. My husband will be waiting for them today!!!!! When does life get quiet?

Thank you so much Danustouch! I just want the quiet life. I want to live out in the wilderness, grow my herb garden, live off the land and beat my clothes over a rock, he he he! The Mountain Woman life is for me!!!

Sorry to hear about this. Someone broke into our apartment just after Trey was born and stole a lot of things. Stereo, t.v, VCR, camcorder...with the tape of Trey's first Christmas still in it. Just stuff but our stuff none the less. It feels just horrible to think of someone going through your things. So I know how you feel and I am sorry you have to deal with this.

No Prob, Mysty...i know the feeling...wanting to live the mountain woman life, that is!

My friend recently had something similar happen to her. She's pregnant, and was in the process of moving. She had thirty days to move, but before her 30 days were even up..her landlord sent someone to "Clean out" her apartment. The woman was supposed to put everything that was left, in the basement, until my friend could go to get it.

When My friend got there, to pick up her stuff...the only things left were two chairs, a microwave stand, and two bags of trash, which, incidentally, the woman who "Cleaned" the apartment, said contained clothes, and other items. But..they didn't. Just old papers and stuff. Amongst the items missing? Her CD player, Her tarot cards, her cloak, ALL of her winter clothes, Video tapes, some books, A dream catcher, some baby stuff that she'd bought for her unborn baby...(which is due in Late October)...and some other odds and ends. She is, obviosly, furious. But for some reason, has resisted calling the police, and the housing authority. She feels she needs that landlord for a reference, and is scared to start trouble, fearing he won't give her a reference. Can you imagine someone stealing her CLOTHES...someone who KNEW she was pregnant (the woman was a neighbor)...and stole her BABY items? Horrible..absolutely horrible!

Thanks guys! You are the best! I was thinking of doing a spell at the entrance of the basement, etc. to repel or ward off this unwanted visitor! They definitely will be back again, and we are waiting. The police said they would keep an eye on the place, but who knows. I placed all the items they tampered with in the same spots they were originally in inside the basement, including the Playboy's and my husband made 2 small shipping boxes with items inside as bait and left them outside the door, hoping to catch them in the act.

Too bad you couldn't set up a hidden camera :)

A spell would be awesome. Or you could try the ABJECT FEAR approach..you know..scatter some chicken bones, surround them with blood..some good drippy black candles, and a fake skull.you know..somehow..I think if you did this..they WOULDN'T ever bother you again. LOL..Just kidding.

he he he, Danustouch,

Believe me, I thought about it, writing a hex-style incantation on parchment and put blood on it, but I am going to try one more time.

We put a "bait" package outside the front door today, brown box with a hat inside, sealed the box, put a mailing label to myself on it. My husband put it out at 3:00 p.m. and went to the office. I got home about 5:00 p.m. and the package was gone. I went into the basement again to find the empty box and packing peanuts on the ground. I called the police again, they came to the house and said there is nothing they can do. Unless, I can catch the person in the act, this is going to keep going on. I would love to be able to video tape the person, but we do not have a video camera and money is very tight right now. I could only spare $300 tops. I was thinking of taking a half day at work tomorrow, come home, and park my car down a side street, and wait inside my front door, but then what?

Borrow a video camera from a friend, family, or a rental place. If I were you I'd try very hard not to be home when they're there, in case they turn violent. Does the basement door lock, can you replace the lock on the window they're getting in through? I'm starting to like the blood and bones idea. Either that or you could go really heavy on the protection magick - sigil wards, invoke a protective entity to watch over (I have a dragon I ask to watch over our place), grab a black candle and ask Hecate or someone else you like to keep an eye for you. I know you probably want to watch the karma but at this point if I were you I'd think I have every right to protect my home. And I'm pretty sure if you need help the folks here can help you write up a strong protective spell or ritual as well as bless your home and send it protective energy.

There's CT cops for ya Mysty!! Couldn't they lift some fingerprints or something? And can't the Police make some fly-byes during the day? Or station a plain clothes cop near there? Noooooo..not CT cops! GRRRRRRRRRR..

I'm with Willow, though. I don't think you should be anywhere near them during their raids. If you have a neighbor , who's house you could see your back door from, I'd survey them from there. Or...alert the neighbors as to what is happening, and have them keep an eye out, and call the police ASAP if they see anything suspicious. I would DEFINATELY try to get a video camera from somebody...and put it way up high in the cellar, somewhere they wouldn't see it. And YESSSSSSSSSSSS the chicken bone thing actually IS a pretty good idea, the more I hear. I would DEFINATELY do some protective magick, and I'd be glad to help you anyway that I can. Just let me know.

BTW...I'd hang a very obvious pentacle on the door, and I'd also make a Witches bottle, if i were you...bury it right outside that door....Or..Invest in a HUGE rottweiler. LOL.

Oh, those wonderful CT police! Without knowing who the person is, or having some type of description, this is just going to continue day-to-day. So I am taking a 1/2 day today, using my brother's video camera, and will be taping from the bedroom window (which has a great view of the Front Door and mailbox). The landlord "finally" came over today and put a padlock on the basement door from the outside. I have just finished packing up a brown box, with 3 candles inside, packing peanuts, packing slip/invoice, labelled the box addressed to me, from Wellington Co. I am ready! I will be parking my car down the street so that the person thinks I am not home.

Well, what a waste of a 1/2 vacation day. I sat in front of the window discreetly with a video camera for 4 hours. Did not see any thieves. Oh well......life goes on......

Yay! We caught the burglar and mail thief! My husband put another fake package out today and put our video camera on. He came home at 2:30 today to find the package gone. He rewound the tape to saw that it is a 13 year old boy who lives next door. My husband just called the police again. I hope that we are able to get back some of the things he stolen such as the jewelry he stole from our basement file cabinet and he stole over $100 in candle and soap supplies that were delivered to my house! Yippie!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

***********DOES THE HAPPY DANCE WITH MYSTY**************************************

I'm so HAPPY!!!!!!!! I think the police should be able to recover most of what was stolen! Most pawn shops require the person selling the items to sighn a statement about where they got it, etc.

Oh honey...best of luck to you!
