Does anyone know the poetry game? the "list a few words and the next person write a poem using those key words and leaves their own few words for the next person" game? Is it something that anyone would be interested in playing here? :bouncybob

I think I know what you mean.

In college, I had a friend who wasn't a writer, give me random words, and then I would write a poem using the words. She usually just gave me one word, like, "purple," or "grapefruit" and then I'd write a poem using the word or the idea. Actually, another writer friend and I would both use her suggestions, and it was very interesting to see how different our poems would be.

Is this what you had in mind? That someone would provide a few words or a phrase, and then the next person would post a poem using the words/phrase, and then leave a word or phrase for the next person in line?

I have been struggling with writer's block for awhile, but this might be the kick in the butt I need to get the creative juices going. I'd like to try and play if anyone else is interested. :)

ok lets see ... in order? or does it matter?

fan dancing a graceful arc
wafting scented air in woman's face
dim shrouded space
treasures hidden in flicking candle flame
so - says she to man waiting -
you want love?
woman cackles like crone
crooked finger beckons closeness
fear stalks man around the cramped space
woman reclines on her couch
draped in tapestries concealing nudity
man swallows pride, steps up
tapestry falls when woman grabs his arm
pricking with a sharpe needle
blood ran down man's leg
how much is the price of love?

that was a weird one ....
here are some words from me for the next person to try
love, redundancy, sparkle, broken, coat, mingle, bridge, paper

Your paper heart was torn in two
when your words of redundancy were more than a few.
I hate the sparkle of your broken aching shattered love
perhaps with the help of heaven above
we can mend the torn path with a bridge of compassion
and wear a new coat of blanketed love
and in the heavens perhaps you will mingle
and find a new love and no longer be single.

OMG that was absolutly terrible, but hey I used all the words LOL
try these. *wings, wind, heart, and part*
