*DISCLAIMER*
I realize most of this probably won't make sense to any of you in any way. However, I have different beliefs, mine tend towards the science fiction rather than the mystical, so I tend to think of all possible things in those terms. If you don't care about this, I don't at all mind. I just felt like posting it for the heck of it.
My belief system would have the Ether and the Universe as the all-powerful and divine, in a sortof Father-Son setup. The Ether is the infinite dimension, with its roots in mathematics, quite soundly provable. My belief is that it holds all possible concepts that exist in the Universe, which works from the Ether on down to dimension zero. It's like a Spring of Life for Everything.
Because the Ether exists, it's quite clear, logically and philosophically, that EVERYTHING exists. ALL the Gods and Goddesses, all the particles of quantum physics, and an infinite amount of things we know nothing about. Vampires, skeletons, and ghouls, to visit the 'darker' side. All things exist.
Spells cast magickally, therefore, do not require spells to counter them. By this view, since all things exist including magick, and the human mind is capable of understanding them, I believe the mind is stronger than mere spells, if developed right.
I suppose this theory's going to be tested. Some insane girl who I already care about as a good friend has suddenly decided to screw with things by casting a love spell. Now, I don't know if she intends to really do it or not, but I intend to fight off whatever it is without any spells or magick for help. I suppose this is a test of the human mind - something I'm always happy to engage in.
Now for the ranting part:
What kind of joke is this, anyway? I mean, what do you guys and girls (men and women) think? I personally think that someone casting a spell on you without your permission warrants some serious anger, and maybe even the termination of a previously good friendship/relationship. IF she can even pull it off - heh, a while back I got involved in a little astral-planar conflict. I was on her side, I beat up a demon, she ought to know I'm stronger than a friggin' spell.
The point, of course, is that casting spells should not be done lightly and without some real thought. If she doesn't cast the spell, then all's well and good. If she tries, she'll be beaten as soon as it hits my mind. And I'll be pissed if I find out she tried it. Chances are that I wouldn't know what it was, I'd just annihilate it, so I'd have to find out in order to be certain.
