After reading lesson one - and the list of cards - what card do you best relate to, and why?

I relate to the Queen of Pentacles. The suit that I most take note of when someone is doing a reading to me is the Pentacle cards. I reviewed each card, and the other suits do not attract me as much as pentacles (Except the Ace of Cups, which also attracts me). But I chose Queen of Pentacles, because from the description on the Universal Waite card it reminds me a lot of who I am.
Now I'm reading over the Ace of Cups out of curiousity and it also shows intense friendship, loving family and "joy and innder peace" which I strongly believe in.

From the ones you posted:
Queen of Swords: Familiarity with sorrow; sadness, embarassement, absence; sterility
I believe the Queen and I connect well right now, as I am going through a rough time (2 years) worth of sorrow/sadness.
I also connect with the 5 of Cups because I am quite the pessimist. I tend to dwell on what is lost, rather than what I still have around me.

From part one:
In the Major Arcana - the card that resonates with me the most right now is the High Priestess though there are a few others that came to mind. In the Minor Arcana - I immediately thought of the Queen of Cups.
High Priestess - Recognizing, celebrating and drawing in the balance of masculine/feminine as well as my own tendencies toward imbalance. I'm also doing a lot of reflection on past patterns, seeing places to move beyond what I think "should be" and into honoring "what is". Being rather than doing. Honoring my intuition, and knowing that my inner Self is wise beyond measure - *listen*. Watching things manifest based on my creativity and expectations of abundance.
Queen of Cups - again intuition, receptivity, emotion, compassion. Connection to family, nurturing others and myself, enjoying what I have. Guiding through example and loving support.

Queen of Swords: Familiarity with sorrow; sadness, embarassement, absence; sterility
^ that also suites me.... i think the entire suite of the Swords is my suite, i feel the most from them and they also represent Air, which is my element.
i also looked at [ this site (http://www.angelpaths.com/tarotl.html) ] which has some info on each of the cards... i haven't finished looking at even half of them yet, but i did look at the Queen of Swords and i think it fits me. ^_^

Page of Wands: Young man or woman, faithful, a lover, and envoy; on the brink of new discovery
Out of the list provided, i chose this card. I feel as i am on the brink of a new discovery, i am faithful, a woman ( lol ), and am always a 'messenger' (envoy). It fits me better than any other card listed.
As i use the Dragon Tarot, more than my Mystic Tarot cards, i went through and chose the card i feel best fits me. But it is a choice of two different cards...
Ace of Wands - New beginnings/ New cycles. I feel that i am at the start of a new beginning in my life right now and this one seems to fit.
This one i feel more connected with and i will type up the description so you can see why.
Two of Pentacles. - Harmony through changes.
Description...
A young woman walks across a log over a canyon, balancing a tiny dragon in each hand. She is not afraid of failure, for she wears the pentacle of protection and has her attention concentrated on each step of the journey, not the deep canyon beneath her. Her faith in herself gives her the ability to safely cross this obstacle in her path. Each of the two dragons has a medallion with a five point star of protection around its neck. The number 2 symbolizes the balance of opposites, as well as both Goddess and God. The dragons are her personal astral guides, powerful for their small size and filled with knowledge that will aid their friend. A large earth dragon watches behind her, ready to help if the need arises. Faces of dragons, animals and humans are seen in the rocks of the canyon. Even though the canyon appears to be an obstacle or barrier, it is filled with watchful entities of the astral realms, entities who can form a strong foundation of fellowship and cooperation.
This fits me almost to a T!!! And this card is also an Earth card, i am a true Earth sign.

:broomride There are two sword cards that best suit me and they are the three of swords and the eight of swords. The three of swords:removal, absence, division, rupture.I have been absent from my siblings since my Mother's passing three years ago.Everything ruptured and caused a divsion between us.This card suits me perfectly. Then the eight of swords. There is crisis and conflict all through my life,as well as sickness, which I am dealing with right now. Then I wanted to try the method of fanning the cards out and selecting the one I received vibes from. The uncanny thing is,is I chose Justice,it has a sword on the card also,it also fit me perectly. This makes me sound horrid, but they all suit my persona.Don't get the wrong picture though :p .I enjoy life,my friends,I'm optimistic even when things are bad,I have a strong will and positive at look on things and good things do happen. It's just that through my lifetime up until now, those three cards paint a perfect picture of me.

Out of ths list provided I would say The Queen of Pentacles. I went through my goddess tarot deck (a gorgeous deck btw) and found a couple others that I believed suited me as well, but out of the list you gave I would for sure say The Queen of Pentacles.
I also went to the website nighstar suggested, and many parts of the description of the Queen of Pentacles suited me:
-Though usually the type of woman indicated is a gentle soul, when angered she can become a fierce enemy, particularly where she sees injustice done to her family and friends.
-She's loyal and willing to help.
-Her concept of spirituality centres on the nourishing aspects of her personality - she is therefor a facilitator, quietly assisting others on their journey, though often her contribution will go unnoticed.
-She maintains a strong link with Nature, loving plants, trees and animals.

From your list I would have to say the Queen of Pentacles, she"s :
Open-minded,altruistic,can be sociable but detached,also objective and aspiring.Also is eclectic,efficient and self-reliant.
I also relate to Temperance, which is ruled by Mercury having reasoning ability, able to formulate thoughts and communications of all kinds. Also to me
when I use Temperance I am looking for balance, freedom from limitations or
in what ways my life is transforming.
I see Temperance dealing with health issues.

From your list, I chose for my significator the Queen of Cups. It seems a little arrogant to do so, given the attributes listed, however the Cups description I feel fits me, as do "dreamy", "honest", and emphasis on intelligence. I would have anticipated choosing the Queen of Swords, but she seems too austere.
Queen of Cups: Beautiful, fair, dreamy; Good, fair, honest; loves intelligence and has the gift of vision; wisdom

I chose the Empress.
The Empress: Action, initiative, knowledge of the unknown; Light, truth
I also feel like the empress represents fertility and nurturing and these are very important qualities that I would like to possess.

Out of the Courts it is a mix between Queen of Wands and Queen of Cups.
But in readings a card that I know is me is the Hierophant and also sometimes the Chariot.
When I started out with tarot it was the High Priestess I picked.

According to your list-I am definitely represented by the Queen of Cups. The beautiful part is questionable but every other description fits me perfectly. Queen of Cups: Beautiful, fair, dreamy; Good, fair, honest; loves intelligence and has the gift of vision; wisdom
I do not know if any other card describes me-I just got my tarot deck this weekend on vacation. Yippee!! Will let you know if I find different in my studies.

Page of Wands: Young man or woman, faithful, a lover, and envoy; on the brink of new discovery
Page of Wands because I am completely and utterly dedicated to my partner and have been for 2years. Mostly though because I have been studying and learning, striving to reach something that I do not yet see. I'm getting closer, I hope, to that discovery whatever it may be. Things are starting to link together that weren't before, so now I feel is the time that the page of wands will work well for me.
Question though...I noticed some people were chosing the Ace's of things, where was that information? And, can minor arcana cards that aren't the king, queen, knight or page represent a person? Is there information on that somewhere that I missed?

Queen of Wands: Countrywoman, friendly, chaste, loving, honorable; Magnetic personality; impassioned
This just sounds like me.. Also, you said that those with red hair are generally indicated by wands.. None of the others seemed to suit me as well, or so I feel... I am a very friendly, vibrant person, and people are drawn to me.. And honor is something that means VERY MUCH to me..

Of the list you posted I tend to identify mostly with the Queen of Swords. Yet, my interpretation of the card (and maybe that's because I use the Sacred Circle deck) is quite different. I also strongly identify with the High Priestess card, but I think that has more to do with it being my role in life than necessarily identifying with the qualities of the card.
You said this for the Queen of Swords: Familiarity with sorrow; sadness, embarassement, absence; sterility. For me I see it more as having to do with imagination, inspiration, the creative force, fertility (which is directly opposing your suggestion of sterility), new beginnings, rebirth and purification.
In fact, the way I see the card is almost completely opposite the way you interpret it. I guess that's part of what makes divination so personal. No two people see the symbols the same.

I think those qualities are more Queen of Wands then Queen of Swords.
I would be interested to hear why you picked the Queen of Sword for them and not the Wand queen.
I think the only keyword there that does not belong to the Wand Queen is Purification.

I resonate with the king of cups. Introspection, integrity, and the ability to deal with the rocky emotions of human kind. also a love for the arts and sciences.
I did a "vibe" card draw, and drew the 9 of cups! I love to think that my wishes will be granted and my material needs met. I will have a smile on my face all day.

Like I said part of it may have to do with my deck, the Sacred Circle.
The fertility symbolism is very strong in the form of both the bee and the rabbit which appear on the card. Both of those animals have quite definite ties to fertility. The bee is also typically associated with inspiration, having in the past been called "birds of the muses."
The association with rebirth, new beginnings, and purification is there because the card very clearly depicts that it's spring. Between the flowers that appear, gorse, primrose, and snowdrops which are all typically associated with spring. Especially gorse and snowdrops which are among the first flowers to bloom. There are also birch trees in the background of the card which were typically associated with new beginnings, cleansing, purification and creativity. The whole card just screams spring to, which in turn screams rebirth, new beginnings, and purification after the long winter months in preparation for summer.
As for the woman depicted on the card, she stands in the middle of lush green valley with a sword in her hand. Even though she doesn't look it in her face, maybe it's because of the scene, I see the goddess Bride. She has clear associations with spring, being that Imbolc is celebrated in honor of her. As a goddess she is a triplicty, the goddess of healing and fertility, goddess of the poets and inspiration, and goddess of smiths. All of these aspects are clearly depicted on the card, down to the sword in her hand.
Does it make more sense to you now why I get those associations, seeknow? And also why I said that interpretations of symbols are very personal?

After reading lesson one - and the list of cards - what card do you best relate to, and why?
Sorry its taken me so long to get to this - busy couple of weeks and all that...
The card I best relate to is usually the Queen of Wands - going by the posted description of looks its a pretty close match lol - my hair's technically brown but goes red with too much sun.
I didn't so much pick it... when I first got my deck and started doing readings, it was the card that represented me in the particular position of the reading. It... felt... right I guess, and rather than seeing it as who I am now, I see it as the person I am working at being and any reading I do for myself with that card as the signifier generally centres on an issue to do with getting to where/who I want to be.
