Trying to get a group...

I heard of something... what was it called, a moot? Anyway, the thing where a group of Pagans and/or Witches and such get together at a local pub every so often and just chat about things. Sounded wonderful, but as far as I know, one doesn't exist in my area.

I was thinking about throwing one together... (ha ha... yeah right.) and wanted some advice from someone who might know a bit about these things. I figured I just needed to come up with a fancy name and advertize on Witchvox and in local shops and such and then every other week or so during the discussion just chat about various topics. I figured if I just start out with my fiance, my cousin, and maybe a friend or two that could get it started and attract new people... and if everyone brought a topic idea with them, it would give us all something to say. Anyone who knows about this stuff- opinions please? Will that work?

Hit your local Metaphysical store. Post there or ask if there is one that occurs in the area. Chances are, there is, but they aren't advertised in great detail. I attend one on the 1st and 3rd Wed. of every month. It is blast. A friend of mine operates it. Met tons of wonderful peoples. Seen some very interesting things from books to tarot to costumes. Had some great conversations too.
Not all about pagan things either. Just good conversation on common areas of life. Children, crafts, local stores or the price of food in grocers nowadays! It is a wonderful break for me twice a month to get out and socialize with grown ups. Have real grown up conversations. Big treat:):):)
I love going.

I know they have one in Houston, TX. Its called Pagan's Night Out, PNO. I think they have a website too if you want to look it up to see what they do. I think there are several accross the country. I've never been to one but good luck in your endeavor! :d

I recently discovered a metaphysical store that opened up in the local area, and they hold "open minds" discussions every couple of weeks. It's great! I have met some great people so far.
