....stop my cat from marking in my house? He never used to do it before, but for some reason he's doing it now. The only change has been new neighbors moving in next door (its a duplex). Even after we moved here (1 year ago), he didn't do it.... it's only been in the last few months.
He's about 3 years old, and he's spayed....I donno what could be causing it or how to fix it....
Help?

Do the new neighbours have a cat? Maybe he's just defending his territory.
Don't know how to stop him though, sorry.

No, they don't have a cat...just a pregnant Rottie that's an outside dog so it's rarely in the house. Would that do it?

I think if i were a cat, a rottie next door would be more than enough to unsettle me 8O 8O 8O
Don't know what else to suggest, i've not come across that problem....yet! My 2 boys are 2 yrs old, so there's still time.

Is he spraying in one particular area? Or is he spraying in differen't spots. Please talk to your veterinarian. They may have solutions to this problem. However, there are several things I could suggest if he is only spraying in one spot.

Take a little tea tree oil with water and sprty area.. kitty does not like the smell.

Hon, take him to the clinic. It could be a sign of a kidney or urinary infection. :(

Okay....thanks everyone. He's due for a visit to the vet anyway, I'll take him soon.

My only suggestion includes duct tape and welding gloves... so, never mind.

We had a problem with that too. It started when we got a new cat. So it probably is the nextdoor neighboor. Its a change so they feel territorial....our cat just finally stopped...and once your cat gets used to the dog and the neighboors I doubt he'll do it anymore
