I just got off the phone with my mother. Looks like Megan, my daughter who she's raising, needs a kidney biopsy (diabetic kid who keeps eating anything and everything). Megan's endochrymologist(sp?) is here in Portland. They're comming up tomorrow! So... I must invoke what we in my house like to call....
CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN ALLERT!!! :ahhhhhhh:
Must hide anything that she's going to freak over!!! I sooo don't have time for that much cleaning!!!
And along for the ride are also my step father (in his early 80's... old fashined type, if you know what I mean), and aunt Lorraine.
I'm excited to see everyone.... but still!!!! I need more warning! :hrmm:

Oh Romani!! I'm sorry to hear about your daughter.. I will be thinking of her! As for your mom, I know only toooo well... I don't "hide" my beliefs from my mother, but I don't discuss it much.. only when she says, "so and so said that ______ (fill in the blank) is good for ________ (fill in the blank)".. I just nod and say, "yes, I know mom, it's something that pagans have been doing for eons".. heh.. I out myself to all my friends and many relatives, but just don't put all that out there for her.. she would be "trying to save my filthy soul"...

She actually adopted her. I was raped when I was 13, and had Megan as a result. So, legally she's my sister.
I don't tell my mom about my beliefs. The only person I think that I wouldn't. It would either make her never speak to me or ... break her brain! She's extremely conservative. And not exactly open minded. but she's still a good woman... and I love her. I don't want to loose my mom.....

I am so sorry to hear that you got raped. :( Good for you for keeping her, and good for your mom for raising her. I can't even begin to imagine the hell you must have gone through making that decision, and then being a pregnant teen. Being a pregnant teen is hard enough-especially at 13-but add to the fact that the child was concieved in rape and wow. You are a strong woman.
Good luck to you and your cleaning. I can totally understand why you wouldn't want you mom to find out. She should be happy that you are happy with your path, but many people just don't get it and it's not worth the fight. You would risk losing her and your daughter if your mom did find out. Good luck! :huddle:

oh Romani....I know all too well the tale of family members who don't understand/tollerate anything other than their christian beliefs. I feel for you. If you need any help you can always call on me. Matter of fact I have tomorrow off of work......if you need me call me okay? :D

Back....
Megan's doing fine. She's in a bit of pain, as can be expected. But it was a good opportunity to point out why she was in that pain! Mom's already been looking into a councelor.
More later... I'm so exhausted... so much happened....
Thanks to everyone for their well wishes and thoughts!!!!
