A friend of mine is a police officer here in my home town, and he is writing a book about dating. The book is written for both men and women, gives simple advice about the dating scene and is geared for "new" daters, as well as older folks re-entering today's dating scene.

Here is the problem... the book has no title. He has asked me to come up with a good title for the book, but I am at a loss. Mostly because I know this book will be printed, and I am nervous (for lack of a better word).

Can you all help me out here, and give me some ideas for a title of a dating book? I need to give any and all title suggestions to him tomorrow... so please hurry, lol!

Your assistance would be GREATLY apprecitated, as I do not want to let him down. Thanks in advance!

I also like "Getting Past Hello".

Then again you could go with "Dating Techniques", or "The Approach", or "When Courage is Called For", or "Simple Dating Advice", or "When in Doubt", or "In the Beginning", or "Stepping up to Bat", or "Selecting Your Options", or "The First Steps"....etc. ;)

Just a couple there for you! :D

Seriousely though,

These are all great, keep them coming. My list is growing!

Here is a little more info, if it will help. My friend is black. He is the "mack daddy" of mid 30's single men. The book is actually very good and has orders all ready. I mean, this guy is running for mayor in the future and knows everyone in the city...

The book itself uses many analogies which puts a little humor into the "process." There is a whole chapter on fishing analogies... you know... "Trophy Bass" and "bottom feeders," what type of bait to use. "When to cut bait" or "reel them in." It sounds a little corny and cheesy, but it is really very good, and well written.

There is a section called "Farming." It is techniques you would see our grandparents use while dating. Go to the dance one week, make eye contact, go to the dance next week, introduce yourself (or have a friend do it), go back the next week, etc. etc.

The book is for teens, as well as older folks. A little something for everyone. Basically, we need a title that stands out among titles on the book shelf... every writers goal, right (lol!).

Well, keep them coming please!! These are great so far.

Oh, I guess I should add this...

Our current title is derived from the last chapter of the book. It is entitled "Whose There."

Yeah, I know, that is why we need a new title. It makes sense once you have read the book, but not a catchy title to begin with.

More for the list... thanks guys.

Hey Mystique, aren't those country songs? lol!

Mairwen, yes, those titles are already taken... lmao! I don't have a release date yet... he is still writing a few chapters. Being a cop, he is doing this in the spare time that he does have. I will, however, let you know.

;)

Mol, you need help my man!

Well, I will not see him again until this coming Friday. I have passed a list of about 60 titles to him thus far. Keep them coming and I will give them to him next time.

I played on the whole fishing scheme for some of my titles... his favorite of mine so far is "Hook, Line and Single."

Keep them coming, and please, keep your pants on!

LoL! Well, I suppose something could be worked out... I am not sure what the going rate for a book title is, but I will check.

Reminds me of my favorite line in the movie Armegeddon. "I hate to be the materialistic weasel of the group, but do you think we'll get..." lmao!
