no rain, no income

Just got off the phone to hubby, he's at our farm, 450 km from where we now live.

We have weighed up our options and decided not to put in our wheat crop as we haven't had enough rain. We have purchased all our fertiliser and seed for this season but it will keep until next year.

If we have no crop, then we have no annual income.

Not sure how we are going to pay the mortgage and keep the inlaws, but something will come up.

Must track down those affirmations - what were those lucky numbers again? :sadeyes:

No pastel hugs for this, I'm afraid - they don't really express the empathy I'm feeling for you. I'm not a farmer, but our farmers here have had severe drought and mad cow the last 2 years, so I can understand the terrible situation you're in.

You will make it through, of course. And find the money. May blessings rain down upon you!

And here we are with too much rain, we've had the most flooding in our area then I can ever remember... I am so sorry. I wish I could help, but as Nighthawk says this is beyond mortal ability.

Golden Princess!!! I know what you are and will be going through. My thoughts are with you and your family.
I lived up in Wyalkatchem for a while and saw first hand what the farmers were going through.
Have you looked into the farm hand fund? Maybe they can help. It is the one that Lee Kernaghan is helping with to raise money. If you go to his site, there is a link to it. I think.
And since every little bit will help, i am lighting a candle for you.
It's hard, i know, but you can get through this.
