The up coming 3rd quarter Moon will culminate on Aug. 12th at 07:54 Greenwich time. Although the Sun will be catching up with a now, slow direct Mars, it will pass a Novile aspect to that planet the day before. That actual position of the 3rd quarter Moon will be without any major aspects to speak of. A prolonged Sun to Mars aspect , especially when Mars is slow, may go unnoticed. However, records show that this combination is often contemporary with fires, some of no little proportion. Forest conflagrations are not uncommon. That there may be a rash of fires reported over the media beginning Aug. 4th or thereabouts. Genlethliacally, this combination will be associated with irritation, stress, and arguments, and that some area of life may be exploited. Keep on guard for this. Those who have a natal (Tropical) Ascendant of 19 degrees of (give or take a few degrees) Sagittarius or any of the Mutable signs (Sidereal; 25 deg. of the Fixed signs) will come under direct "fire" from this aspect, until Aug. 11th. There should be an immediate let up of any Martian influence beginning in the evening of Aug. 10th, in time to enjoy a 3rd quarter Moon free from undue Martian interference.

Very, very interesting, esp as Aug 12th is the 32nd bday of my sweetie booboo who has a strong Fire signature in his chart: Sag Asc, Leo Sun/ Moon, Mars 1st house.
I'll keep my eyes peeled for combustion ;) :heartthro

Litha: If you want, shoot to me your "Booboo's" birth data, I can tell you after some initial calculations what will be the major influece in his birthday's -Solar Return. I think my E-mail addr. is mentioned in the profile section. It may not be the 3rd quater to Mars, and indeed it seldom is when it comes to as an important Astological phenomena as one's Sidereal Solar Return. And this is considering the the total field out there and the pervasiveness of the Lunar indicators. Happy birthday to him and greetings to you. -Methanespirit.

I'll send your greetings off to my mister and hullo back atcha:p
And thank you for your kind offer:D ; didn't see an email addy, so sent a PM through this website.
I have been looking at his and my own SR's lately, so it's serendipitous that you proffer your interps! The zodiac system I've been using is Tropical, but you've made me start thinking and I set my own SR to Sidereal to have a look. What House system do you use? Do Sidereal charts always have an Aries/Libra horizon?
Sideareally I've got Venus conj Saturn, Jupiter in the 2nd; Earth conj Moon in the 3rd, Mars in the 6th, Pluto and Chiron in the 8th and Neptune conj Merc, Uranus in the 10th.
Tropically I've a Sag Asc with Pluto and Chiron 1st house, Sun conj Merc 2nd house Cap, Neptune 2nd house Aquarius, Uranus 3rd house Aquarius, Venus 3rd house Pisces, Saturn conj Moon 6th house Taurus, Jupiter 6th Gemini, Mars 11th house Scorpio, Vertex, Node and POF in 8th Cancer.
With most of the planets falling in my 2nd and 6th, most of the changes this year have centered around work/career and finances. Much of what I do at work now consists to mediation and administration and that pulls the 3rd house energy into the mix.
Just by doing a quickie look it seems that with the different system, similar energies pervade throught for the year.
Over the weekend I read an article by a Chinese astrologer who was using the lunations that occurred after birth time to measure 7 year cycles, with each NM, QM, FM, QM being important times in each persons life. He used JFK as one of his examples. I'll have to find the website address so I can post it.

Letha; In mundande Astrology houses are not used, because the influence is distrubuted throughout the entire world. The only place I use houses are in natal and Lunar- based charts and progressed charts (Secondaries, Tertiaries, and Quintinaries) As far as a house system goes, I use a 16 house division, counted as the Sun appears to travel through the sky through the Eath's axial rotation. The 1st house is the Ascendant, and the 16h is the last house below the eastern horizon. The 16-house system was discovered about 15 years ago. It was revealed through the constant demonstration of personal misfortunes of fate of people, who have the ruler of the Ascendant located below the Eastern Horizon in the 16th house. This is the true house of misfortune, although more correctly it is the location of one being burdened with extra responsibilities in life and hardships. It's ruler Is obviously Saturn. Another discovery that re-enforced the 16 house system was the demonstratable experiences of the two houses that flank the Descendant,( the 9th house.) The 8th house rules agreements and oaths, while the 10th rules family providence of personal gifts and supports. These house are easy to determine by simply dividing the Right Ascention between the Ascendant and MC by 4, and the same with the MC to the Descendant. Actually, there is no math necessary. That by simply determing the degrees between those points and dividing that by 4 is close enough. Those points of division thus determined are the most powerful to delineate the house occupations, or their rulers. I have a list of the meanings of the 16 house divisions if you would like to look the over. They could be posted on this site.

Yes, please post the 16 division house deliniation.
Thanks for explaining this all so succinctly; I get the feeling reading this out of a book would have taking more time to chew and digest that what you just wrote!

OK here it is, and it might take some getting used to because they are counted in the opposite direction of the Tropical system. (1) the Ascendant. It rules one's physical body (appearance etc) , their body language, and one's approach to life. (2) One's societal responsibilites. It rules philanthropic interests, chairty, and religious proclivities. (3) Personal providence. It rules, the interests one has in personal achievements, in career and overt accomplishments. (4) Empathetic associations. It rules personal overt friends and knowledge of those who constitute one's associates. (5) Midheaven . It denotes what one will have accomplished in life, one' type of profession and engineered interests, hobbies, or anything that reflects a life-long interest. (Personally I have a Moon-Neptune partile conjunction 2 degrees off the MC here) (6) the house of popularity. It rules one' social acceptability, acclaim and publicity. (it is interesting that many famous personalities in the entertainment business have the Sun in this house). (7) rules one' s association with other;s property, goods, and services. It is traditionally associated with legacies and wills. (8) Denotes legal agreements and bonded associations made through contract. (9) Descendant. It rules opponents and environements. Opposition to one's plans, or if a person has a natal planet here it denotes one acting as their own opponent -playing the "Devil's adocate" so of speaking. according to the nature of that planet or luminary. (10) Family and private responsibilities. It rules one" interest in and the ability to care for others. (11) Personal services and contributions to private interests. (12) Overseership and occupying positions of being a ward, or manager. (13) I.C. denotes one's physical property and the fate that will be encountered with it. (14) Trainining and education. It rules all institutions of education, and personal application to learning (I have the natal Sun here at, Sidereally, 1 deg. Aquarius). (15) Rules personal wealth and values., and particularly the latter. (16) The house of misfortune. It denotes one' plight especially in childhood, extra responsibilities placed on the person and misfortuns that one must endure most of their life. OK that is it, I hope you find these house positions more accurate that what is commonly accepted. Love!

I forgot to mention that the 15th house has to do with one's heredity background, especially if a parent or guardian's birth Sun occupies this position. There is a schematicism to all of this: houses above the horizon denote overt interests and activities, those below, indicate personal or private interests. Those east of the MC/IC axis denote personal initiatives on behalf of one's self, those west of the MC/IC axis denote activities on behalf of others or because of others.

Yes, I agree with him. What he does is give examples of influences vs events from acutal historical data. This is the proper way to do astrological research. although I have never approached a genelethliacal study using quarter moons, it is commonly demonstrated that a qurter moon ascending during a rain storm greatly intensifies its power. I remember the Lubbock Texas tornado of l970. Many people lost their lives in that storm. The tornados and clouds intensified at the ascension of the quarter moon that night. We had 7 1/2 inches of rain in about 90 minutes! I will look into his methods of research more. Thanks Letha for the intro.
