Hello all,
Several years ago I saw something that has bothered me ever since. A “paranormal event” of sorts. I’ve been wanting to bring it up on MW for awhile now, but I’ve been reluctant. It sounds hokey, even to me, and I’m the one who had the experience! OH well. At this point I’ve seen enough strange, dumb, or silly things posted to know that I wont be alone……..
Ok….Several years ago, before having my children, I lived with my mom in law and boyfriend (now husband). At the time, we all had separate rooms. Anyway, I woke up in the middle of the night, rather suddenly, and saw an apparition near the ceiling and against my wall. What bothered me most was its appearance.
It was looked exactly like a Jawa from Star Wars, small and cloaked. Only, there were no discernable eyes, and it was entirely black. In fact, it was so dark, that it’s outline was clearly visible, even though I had no lights on in my room. It’s appearance was also strangely flat. So that it seemed almost two-dimensional. Shadowy.
To go on, I looked up, saw it, bolted upright in my bed…..and felt for no reason that I can figure out that it was “startled” by my noticing it. It reached around somewhere on it’s person, grabbed a crescent shaped blade of some sort (also flat looking and black) and threw it at me. It looked real enough, until it passed through my chest harmlessly. Holographic like. Then it slid down the wall and through the floor.
At that point, I bolted from my room.
Now, I would consider this a hallucination, but as I ran from my room I nearly took out my mother in law and boyfriend, who had also woke up at the same time….from nightmares….and felt the need to get someone for comfort. We all met in the hallway, where we awkwardly rehashed what had happened and I tried to explain myself. I got several raised eyebrows, to say the least.
So, now that I’ve confessed all of this, I still don’t know what to think. It doesn’t go along with ghost type phenomenon. There were no other strange occurrences in the house. I was wide awake and sitting up, and both my in law, and pre-hubby had woke up with nightmares at the same time……so I think I can rule out hallucination. Maybe.
A few days after that I began coughing. A result of my lungs being over-sensitive to cigarette smoke I suppose. (Everyone in the house smoked except me.) I’ve had to deal with that darn cough ever since. I treat it with steroids like prednisone when it reoccurs. I’m dealing with that same cough now ….Hack, hack….and cant seem to put down the image of that miniature grim reaper and that stupid blade passing through my lungs. Go figure……
Opinions anyone?
(NO, I don’t have a history of mental illness, wasn't drinking or on hallucinogens.)
