Merry Meet, everyone!

I'm not really sure of how to introduce myself, but I'm Kristin, I'm seventeen, and I've been studying my Path since about November of 2000. Uhm .. I don't know if this will offend anyone out there, because on another board I said this and I had a whooole lot of bad things said to me .. I have to study in secret since my mother isn't too keen on Paganism, and refuses to let me convert. So, all my studying goes on when she's not home. ^.^ Anyways .. If anyone has a problem with that, please don't post it on the boards screaming and yelling .. That's what happened the last time and I almost banished my studies. It was bad .. I want to be helped along my Path, not tossed off of it. So, anyways ...

I'm an animal freak .. I have an affinity for animals that no one in my family knows where it came from .. I'm horse-obsessed .. I've been riding for nine years and I love it. Any other horse people out there? I hope so, I love to talk about horses and things. ^.~ If you'd like to know anything else about me, email me or send me a Private Message .. Or something like that. ^.^;;; I love to chat, don't be afraid! I don't bite too hard! LoL. Blessed Be!

Yay! .::giggle::. It already feels like family. ^.~ I know that I'll like it here.

I do have a question, actually ... Pagans that I talk to tell me to read, read, read and do some more reading, and I do, but I feel like it's the same thing over and over again. Now, that makes me irritable and frustrated, which is why I'm 'on a hiatus' from reading. I'm basically in a rut right now. The Wiccan Path fascinates me, I think it's so amazing, and I'm just in awe about it. But .. how can I keep studying if I'm so frustrated with reading the same thing over and over? I'd love some help ... I just don't know what to do anymore! Feels like I'm just going around in a rather large circle ...

Check out the Book Forum for something new. Or try out a form of divination, Tarot is very popular here, create your own rituals or prayers. And remember Seekers Seek! :D

I know what you mean! But what people mean by read, read, and read, isn't the same as your teachers mean by it.

Read, and question what you are reading. Does it feel right to you? Does it make you go "of course!!" or "what on earth do they mean by that?" If you can, without causing any problems, right down what you think of things. One of my pet hates is corresspondance tables. I've started with colours, and I'm listing what comes to mind when I think about the colours, not what other people say!

Start meditating, and develop little everyday rituals - for instance, I welcome the power of the elements every morning in my shower - water (obviously!), fire (to heat the water), earth - (to filter the water from the ground) and air (drying my hair afterwards).

Spend as much time as you can outside and really NOTICE what goes on in nature as the seasons change. I found this really daunting in the beginning, so I started with just one tree, and watched how it changed. Try growing xome plants yourself - a herb garden is really easy and fun, and you can use the herbs in cooking etc!

OK, that's just my humble opinion!

What you just said put me in awe, and I truly understand what you're saying to me.

I'm sitting here, racking my brain, tryign to think of something to say, but I just can't. All I know is that it feels right.

I'm going to get started on my Bonsai garden again. I'll even grow some herbs, hopefully herbs are easier than Bonsai plants!

Everything you said made sense to me. I'm still in shock. A lot of stuff has been put on me lately, and I definitely need to begin some meditation ... The last time I meditated was amazing ... I felt so connected to everything. I was aware of everything around me, what was going on in the most gentle of breezes, and even the tiniest chirps of a small songbird.

Thanks so much!

I know your frustration well. I recently came here and posed a similar question. I believe it is under this same forum entitled "another question".
I have been given many good ideas. You might want to look at that thread to get some fresh ideas.
Everyone here has been very helpful in my struggle to understand and learn I know you will get the same support and efforts from the people here.

Well, a lot of books that are out there today are geared toward new pagan, hence the overlapping information... There are no real books out there on advanced paganism because there is a certain level (I believe) that you have to attain, or rather certain basic skills that you need to be able to have before you can do harder things. Ie. you have to crawl before you can walk.

I have found that studying other subjects can help you immensely in your search... Research world mythology, gardening both magickal and mundane, arts and crafts, and just about any subject that catches your eye. Learn everything that you can... (This is what I do at least... Helps keep things fresh)

There are a few books out there that I feel give a very good semi-advanced lesson on paganism. There is Wiccan Mysteries by Raven Grimassi (Most books by him are good), The Witches' Bible Compleat by Janet and Stuart Farrar, Drawing Down the Moon by Margot Adler, and Wicca: Old religion in a new millenium by Viviane Crowley...

I hope that you like it here!
