Some close friends and I have reason to believe that we've recently been attacked magickally by some unscrupulous people. This is a new experience for me, as I generally work solitary and keep strong protections up. If it had been less severe, I'd probably just do a warding on the house and leave it alone, but they came after my 7 month old son, as well. I'm a pissed off mama, and I'm worried about my little boy.
Can I get some advice on protection spells and justice spells, please? Perhaps what's worked best for some of you in the past, and how to ward against nasty entities? I've already pulled the salt and dragon's blood incense out, but if two heads are better than one, how many more can I get on here?

here's what I would do. M'lady and I have been through this stuff.
first, i'd seal the house. then sudge the entire place- I have protection/banishing incence I make-
Cedarwood dust/ white sage / tobacco / Wormwood / rosemary/ pine equal parts
and smudge out the front door, with the intent of clearing evryroom behind you and sealing it off.
when the house is completly cleared, call back your spirit firends and appologize for being rude, ask for their help.
I have combination dreamcatcher/witche's ladders hanging over our beds- make a dreamcatcher and leave the end of the web hanging- tie the nine feathers into this string. make it in circle and focus on protection- I sing the withce's rune while doing something like that, cause it's easy to do without thought.
As for justice magic, be careful. that isn't something I'd mess with. remember, justice is blind!

First off, just a general warning:
Don't get too dragged down in the dogma that someone is working magick on you. If you believe in it, you give these people power, regardless or not if they cast a spell initially.
Secondly, I would say go around with some Sage and Holy Water. Cleanse the house.
Perhaps even create sacred space through your entire house just to be safe. Ask your Guardian Angel for protection and blessings.
Most importantly remember: You'll be fine.

I thank you for your ideas. I also went to the local craft store today to grab some cheap mirrors and supplies for a few witch bottles. I really liked the incense blend, but unfortunately I don't have the cash or the materials available to make it. I think I'm just going to have to stick with the sage from my window box and be content.
Keep in mind, justice is a different thing than revenge. Yes, I'm willing to take whatever karma sends my way. No, I'm not going to believe that these people have power over me, however I've seen their ability to cause havoc. :eyebrow: That's a completely different issue.

I'd suggest a good smudging, inside and out if it's feasible. A mixture of salt an sage can then be sprinkled around the outside of the house as a protective barrier, and on the inside I'd place a protective charm containing salt, garlic, dragons blood and Solomon's Seal at every window and exterior door. I was on the receiving end of a nasty energy attack, and since I've done this there hasn't been a recurrence. I go around the outside of the house with salt periodically to reinforce that barrier. I'd be in favor of a good "reflection or boomerang spell" myself, just bounce whatever gets sent your way right back to the sender.

While doing those very good rituals for protection that have been suggested, you also need to increase your confidence that the rituals will work. Belief in what one is doing is important in making rituals most effective.
Remember that there is a lot of natural psychological protection against negative magical spells which affect the consciousness. If there were not such protection against outside attempts to control one's consciousness, those beings who are being difficult would have been able to enslave everybody in the world thousands of years ago. Still if one's mind is vulnerable in some way, magic can get through. If that is the problem, then one wants to direct one's mind away from the weakness that makes one vulnerable. This would be something different for different people, so it is only possible to give a couple of examples.
1. If the vulnerability is caused by something in one's mind being similar to the being trying to harm one with negative magic, and one can figure out what this similarity is, then one can direct one's attention to something different from that similarity. For example, if the problem being were highly involved with thunderstorms, perhaps even using visualizations of some aspect of thunderstorms as part of the magic, one would focus one's attention on things other than thunderstorms, such as remembering calm sunny days one had gone to the beach. Or if one knows that the problem being doesn't like cabbage, one could eat cabbage and visualize it. Most beings would have trouble getting magical inflence through to a mental state that is focussed on something they dislike. Love of course is always something incompatable with negative magical spells meant to harm someone, so really getting into thinking about one's loved ones and feeling one's love for them would be protective.
Again, this would be individual and depend on the mental characteristics of the problem being, and upon knowing or discovering things in one's own mental state that make one vulnerable. Sometimes, one might find that one is naturally resisting influence in this way already, and so one can just wait out the problem being, who will simply be wasting energy trying to do something harmful he/she is really unable to do. Just because a problem being is trying to attack one with magic doesn't mean that she/he is capable of being successful, so while one should of course be watchful and cautious, one should not become too afraid.
