I'm sorry to hear it though. I've just come out of the phase that you're in (I start my new job on monday after three months unemployment) and I know how much it sucks when you really want a job and they knock you back.

All I can suggest is that any courses or whatever you can take that would improve your chances of getting a job, TAKE THEM. Even if it's not particularly relevant, people will see you really want a job in that area and will look on you much more favourably.

The reason I got my job was largely because the people knew I had a genuine interest in the area. My job is fixing engine management computers in cars and I said outright that I had a performance car (which I do) and that I wanted to learn more about any aspect of performance enhancement so I can understand what my options for further upgrading are (also true.) I know for a fact that there were people that went for the job that were better qualified than I was, but that doesn't count anywhere near as much as showing that you're GENUINELY interested in the job and not just applying for it because "it's a job."
