Dreams of future?

Hi alll..a question please?Since I was very young I had dreams that came true in every particular. The Only dreams I remembered were these. but after I was in my middle teens allof the dreams were about things I could not control or change, except 1, & were always about crisis situations or death. At about 30 I started willing myself not to have these dreams, and I have been successful. Now however, I feel a loss. I think that with better knowledge of paganism I would be able to cope . Does anyone have any insite?
This may not be the appropiate place for this question. If not please let me know & I will post it elsewhere. For some reason I felt I should ask here.
Maggie in Druids thought it might be precognition, but when I did a search the defination I found was "information from distant times" but my dreams always were the future & came true in about 1-7 days.

I've had that happen twice it's a gift or a curse depending on how you look at it. For me it is a curse because it is of death by violence and I can't seem to effect the outcome. However it is still a part of me, whenever you block a part of yourself you feel loss. It doesn't seem to matter if it was a good part or a bad part either. When you let go of anything that is a part of you there is loss. Only you can decide if it's worth it to you to let go of it. For me I have no control there are people that can teach you how to control it if you want. They may even be at this site hopefully it will give you an option if you want them back.

I've had those dreams alot too. But they've always been small, and about something I personally would see. It always gives me a "deja vu" feeling. I have heard there are people who could teach you to control it too and be able to move you past just seeing negative things. I hope you find your answer.

I get these dreams at least once a week. Mostly they are about a minor fight to avoid, or something small. About once a month, they're about something a bit grander and they really can unsettle me. I've seen everything from death, to rape, to engagement, to whatever. Now, I've personally always thought these dreams were given to me so that I could make a difference, change the outcome. And you know what, I have when I could. *shrug*

Oh, and I'd personally take this thread over to divination. Precognition is a form of divination or sight into the future, time frame is not important. Mine came true anywhere from 1day to 1week, sometimes more, but generally within days.

And as far as closing off your gifts, it's not uncommon. I did it for a while. My husband is still "capped" to this day and doesn't want to be exposed.

Yes i know about this...it's like a picture that becomes reallity...but how many days after is allways diffrent....and it's allways so weird when you see that you've allready see'n.....it allways feels so weird.....
