In response to an article that appeared in one of the UK news services about
a man named Dougie Scriven, a water diviner, who is retiring after 24 years,
magician, and psychic investigator James Randi ("The Amazing Randi") has
extended to the UK his offer to pay anyone $1 million dollars if they can
prove psychic abilities.
The contest, which began in 1968, remains uncollected.
''Most of the people who take up the challenge are dowsers," says Randi.
''We have had people from all over the world taking part, including Denmark,
Germany, Russia and the UK and they invariably fail. They can't do what
they say they can do, they believe they can. Dowsers can never find the same
spot twice and two dowsers can never find the same spot.''
Know somebody who claims to have psychic ability? Do you? The challenge is
