I know that there was a web site that was recently posted for an adopt a Pagan soldier program. A friend and I are interested in writing the "dear soldier" letters, and sending a care package or two. I am having a hard time finding information on how to do this.
If anyone has tips for me or a good web site I would greatly appreciate it!

Humm..well about a yr ago the little girl i babysat, well she attended elementary school and they wrote letters to soldiers and the soldiers replied. Maybe the school board?..I don't know if that was a major thing going on or what in elementary schools...

I know for student council we sent x-mas cards with a reply address in each one so If a solider wanted to write back s/he could. But so far all we got was a note from somwhere saying they got the cards and they are planning on passing them out ( we sent the cards in Dec and got the note in May). Try typing adopt a solider or something along that line at yahoo or google.

I am not sure that you could send stuff to only Pagan Soldiers (though that would be great). Find out that, I have a buddy I went through AIT in the Sand Box, and I am in Korea. I bet he would enjoy getting a care package or a letter from the states.

There was a threadin just talk about adopting a Pagan soldier. It had a web site in it. There was such a huge response that they stopped taking applications to do it.
If you pm me with an address I would be more than happy to write and send a package to your friend.
When I have asked for information both on and off line one of the first questions people ask me is if I am looking for only Pagan soldiers. The answer is no. I am simply looking to lend my support to people who are doing a difficult job. Locally pagans posted several months back on an elist that they needed volunteers to welcome soldiers back home when they returned. Our soldiers were coming home and finding no one to greet them. I can only imagine the crushing blow thta must have been. I am taking the stance that this needs to be done for people. People are people regardless of their religious affiliations.
Please do Pm me with the address. I can not promise many packages but I can promise letters.
If anyone else has a friend that is serving and could use some letters I am sure I am not the only one who would be willing to take some time to write them. As a matter of fact, I already have people who are looking for addresses with me.
Thank you

This is a web site that anyone who wishes to send care packages or letters to the troops would find as an excellent resource.
