View Full Version : Your Dragon's Profile

I know I'm posting this a little early in the lesson, but I think it'd be fun to do. :) For those of you who have started contacting a dragon, I would like you to begin filling out your dragon's profile so as to 1) keep track of him/her 2) show your progress in getting to know them and 3) show that dragons are just as unique as humans.

Some information you may never know. This could be anything. Gender, name, age, whatever. Not everything in the profile is important to know, but fun to put down (i.e. eye colour). So, start trying to fill out your dragon's profile and leave what you don't yet know blank or with a hyphen or whatever. Remember, have fun with it.

Note: You do NOT have to include any drawings of your dragon, but you are allowed if you'd like.

(I will follow up shortly with the profile format.)

Name: Grale
Gender: Presumed male
Age: Mid-200's
Astral Type: Earth Guardian
World Type: Tibetan dragon (Draco montana)
Eye Colour: Blueish-green
Structure: All white, brown horns, no wings.
Size: Medium housecat
Likes: Cookies, jokes, Tarot readings, scaring Psycho Kitty, and having dragon stories read to him.
Dislikes: Being ignored, unhappy endings, lack of cookies, and hot weather.
Personality: Delightfully funny, always brings a smile to my face, always has a new story to tell.
Unique Features: None.
Problems: Can be a handful. Needs to be quieter when nonbelievers are around. (heh)
Comments: Grale's a great little guy. Although named after the more popular Earth dragon, Grael, I don't think there's any relation. And the name is spelled differently. I have included a picture I drew of Grale a few years back. I can't draw and it's sort of cartoonish, but he seems to like it. The paperclip necklace and Danny Elfman ankle tattoo were added by me for no real reason. The other picture is the first three drawings I ever did of him. Really bad picture, I know. Basic structure originated from Spyro.

My dragon guardian appears to be a D&D gold dragon. Like, straight from the game books. She is young, a female, and her name is Leila.

here are a couple of the dragons that have been with me the longest. others do come and go as need arises.

name: i cant pronounce it
gender: .. female
age: never asked.
basic description:. orientaly type dragon . shiney black with long tendrils running off its head and mouth. she is rather proud of them and tells me that the longer or more flamboyant they are among oriental . the more prominent . something like that. she likes the dark recesses of book cases. she is very smart and intellegent. i have lots of book cases and books. so not a problem. she likes peace and quiet. and protects me like a mother hen especially when im with child. she is my first dragon and has been with me for 10 years. when other dragons arrive . she does assert her authority or tries to. ( giggles )

name: . icee
gender: female
type : silver
description: . this little darling is a newly hatched wyrmling. was gifted to me be them and i am very honored. she doesnt care for the heat of the summer so is trying to keep to low cool places. during winter though by the gods she is everywhere. she hunts in the cool of the morning fish and small game for the most part. driving the doggy nuts or running her nose up the back of my partner. lololol . nothing like a cold wet nose

name:. big red
gender: male
type: fire. red dragon
description: . when this one arrived everyone knew it. he bellowed flames of fire and trumpetted at the top of his lungs .. about the size of a small horse. young male full of wild oats. he sits on the ridge or on top of the house. my black one hissed at him. he has been trying to win her favor ever sence. ** shakes head ** . after 10 years he is still trying . big red is a very effective guardian for outside.

I'm not part of your course, Klucky, and I don't work along the same lines as you, but for some reason I can't resist.

Name: Stormbringer (He has a name in Druatch, but it's not for the internet)
Gender: Male
Age: Uncertain
Dragon Type: Storm
Dragon Clan: Stormwatcher (fostered into Rolling Thuinder clan)
Eye Colour: Varies - generally deeper shades of blue.
Body Colour: As above: varies with mood and atmospheric conditions. Generally a mottled blue colour with distinct patterning.
Structure: Very slender - long tapered tail, long toes and claws. Built for swift flight. May or may not manifest with beard and tail hair.
Size: Inside the house, medium dog sized to cat-sized. Outside: Anywhere from small to very very large.
Likes: Storms, rain, high winds, snow, blue Poweraide O_o, chasing my cats, aiding in magical or astral workings, startling my houseguests and sitting on my bed sleeping.
Dislikes: Dry weather, days without wind, people or animals without a sense of humour, certain kinds of incense.
Personality: Grows on you. Strange sense of humour, even-tempered for the most part. Sharp and quick to strike when aroused to anger. Very certain of his place in the workings of the multiverse - confident. Generally enjoys the simple things in life.
Unique Features: Can sometimes be plainly seen to the visible eye riding the edges of storms - tends to spread himself out through them, making him seem very very very large.
Problems: None, really. He has chosen to companion me for the better part of a decade now, and we're well attuned to one another. The cats are all used to him by now, as well, so there are little problems there.

Comments:
Storm is a rare breed, I think. I've encountered few people whose experiences with dragons are anywhere similar to mine. He shifts around a lot in appearance, but is rock-steady as a companion, and I can't imagine not having him around. I've sketched him a few times - just bear in mind that these are older works. If I find the muse I'll do a newer one sometime.

Morgandria: That's very interesting. I love the pictures you did. :) Since you said you don't work along the same lines as me, I was curious as to what your own techinques are. Would you mind sharing with me either here or by PM? I always like to learn something new. :)

I can't really say I have a method for working with dragons. I didn't summon my dragon - he sort of showed up one day, and we started "hanging out". I do a lot of astral travel and astral workings. as well direct energy work (will shaped by intent, all that); he enjoys this as well, and will work with me if the objective is something he's interested in. I have met other dragons through Stormbringer, from different clans than his own, and have come to a certain level of understanding of these clans, some of the history of his particular breed of dragon, and some of the language involved with them. Far from an expert, tho.

I'm sure it works for other people but summoning a dragon and binding it to me or whatever wasn't anything I ever wanted to do. What I understand of dragons does not at all synch up with what is written in Dancing with Dragons, and most of the information you find online for dragon magic is based or taken directly from that book. I've been told before my relationship with my dragon must either be fiction or delusional, since it doesn't match the book. :\

My experience with dragons more Otherkin-oriented, I suppose. I understand them to be creatures who once lived here or on other planes, and that now they are astral entities. Some of these spirits choose to incarnate into humans, for whatever reason - the Otherkin aspect I was speaking of. There are five major clans of these dragons, which then break down into sub-clans and family groups. Dragon "genetics" are very interesting - in as much as you can speak of astral creatures having anything like genetics.

Storm isn't my guardian or anything. I could ask him to do that for me, I guess, but I've always just thought of him as a very cool companion. He offers his thoughts, energy, whathaveyou pretty freely - nothing compels him to do so, or even to stay with me. He's also not a child.. I have no idea as to his exact age, or if it even matters to him...but he's had children, and a fairly long span of life. I don't think I'd have it any other way...I have little patience for children of any kind.

When I work with dragons it's either with some dragon-otherkin friends of mine, or I am setting up an astral temple. I've had enough contact with different dragons that if I ask them to act as temple guardians while I work, or lend their energies, they will if I ask nicely. I can also cast circles for rituals this way, but I do so infrequently. If I do, tho, I will often make an invocation to each of the 5 major clans for their presence and aid to the ritual.
That's about the extent of my experience magically with dragons, other than the direct energy work I do with Storm. I'm sure that's not particularily helpful.

That's all really interesting. :) Thanks for sharing it. I used to follow "Dancing With Dragons" because I didn't have anything else to follow, but I eventually learned better ways and ideas through experiencing them. I'm also very against "summoning" or "binding" a dragon to a person. I see the tactics I give as more of a phone call asking if any of them are up for a fun day. Does that make sense? I have no doubt that Storm exists. I don't know why anybody wouldn't think so.

Alright.. I'll start this off, although it's subject to change when I start learning more about the little guy.

[edited 6/25]

Name: Aerol
Gender: male
Age: Young? Hasn't given me a figure as far as years
Astral Type: Haven't asked yet
World Type: I think Tibetan/ Dracono Montana or Knucker, although I only have a general idea what he looks like
Eye Colour: Deep turquoise
Structure: Small, Spyro like dragon with deep emerald coloring, with a turquoise shimmer in places, same turquoise as his horns, although they're little. Blue-ish underbelly.. I don't *think* he has wings, but I don' t honestly know for sure.. I usually only see his face or a flash of him moving.
Size: Large housecat/small dog
Likes: Cookies, jokes, Tarot readings, chocolate, fruit punch, technology, dogs, reggae/tribal music, laughing, dancing, card tricks, cartoons on TV, clocks
Dislikes: Vanilla, me singing ( :wth: ), Matt (a friend), my sister, loud noises, sad feelings, vacuum cleaners(funny story there...)
Personality: Terribly curious, in a good way.. very funny, laid back (for dragons, from what I've read of their personality). Loves jokes and learning new things. Offers advice and happiness when I'm sad. Also loves to drop by and curl up with me while I sleep
Unique Features: Don't know enough dragons to know if he's unique..
Problems: Has a habit of 'pouncing*' at inappropriate times, gets sad when a thorough explanation of his questions isn't possible, can be a little mischevious, messes with my friends (Believers and nonbelievers), disturbs my sleep sometimes
Comments: He's an all around sweetie.. I hope I get to know him better and elaborate on this over time. His teacher (Karta, presumed male, although not sure) is constantly in the background. He seems (mentally) about the equivalent of a human 7 or 8 year old.. still innocent and fascinated, but he has opinions and a good grip of what's going on. Very affectionate, and playful, with a streak of mischeviousness. Never seen him be angry or overly emotional of any sort, and I hope not to be the cause of that for him. I'll try to do some drawings of what he looks like to me, and fix my scannar so everyone can see him.

*Pouncing- An odd experience. Usually I get a mental image of him, along with a rush of energy and emotion, much like an empathic sense, only of him. It's almost always happy, playful energy, to the point where it makes me giggle.

Description: Just like a juvenile gold dragon from the D&D Drgonomicon. Whiskers and all.
Astral type: Your guess is as good as mine.
Size: St. Bernard
Personality: Bemused. Much like a cat, really. Looks at me like it's amusing when I ask questions (much like an adult looks at a child when they ask things like "why is the sky blue?"). Calm. Patient. Subdued (not overly energetic or playful).

Profile:

I call my guardian Smoke because he hasnt told a name yet and he seems to like it. (my 3 yr old called him that. Who knows, my 3 yr old might sence something I dont?)

I have no idea of age. I feel he is a earth or water dragon since he is salamander like in shape.

Color is blue with a white sheen.

He likes fruit loops!!

He is salamander like in shape, no horns. He has either small folded wigs, wing buds, or 2 lumps running down his back?

He likes to scoot around and wrap himself around things and my 3 yr old. He likes to check everything out. Very courious little dude!

The only dislike I have noticed so far is the cat. He always seems to move around her space as if he doesnt want to make her notice him but he lets the dogs notice him....odd?

He likes to come fast be noticed and then be gone!! He comes at odd times without warning, especially when we get ready for bed. He has come a couple of times, kinda like he is saying goodnight!

My guardian's name is Chantry.
He's a silvery-blue Frost dragon...Haven't asked his astral type yet.
He loves my choc. chip cookies, dancing, and the guitar.
He has a tendancy to poke around in every nook and cranny.
He has LOADS of energy that tries to flood me, so I have to be extra careful when I sense him comin'.

Will post more when I know more.
