The difference between magick and magic is the k. Most people choose which spelling to use and stick with it. The ending with the K is used by a lot of fluffies too as they deem it "cool".
As for paths. I still havn't found mine yet. All i can say is read, read, read and just follow your heart. Do what feels comfortable to you.Check out the paths forum here. That is a wealth of info.

Some people to use the 'k' to differientiate from stage illusionists. I choose not to... they took the word from us... it was ours first... so there!!! lol

Either spelling is fine. I use magick to denote actual "real" magickal workings as opposed to sleight of hands tricks or magic written about in Fantasy novels (which I love to read, by the way) -- but all of that is personal preference and not some unwritten law.
Okay, here's my advice on seeking a Path. First, take some time and actually sit down and list the reasons why you're looking for a Path. What has turned you away from Christainity/Judiasm/Muslem/whatever? What attracts you to a Pagan Path? This will give you a good foundation to begin seeking your Path.
Then, the reading begins. :D And never ends, by the way. LOL Look around the forum, and you'll find many, many posts containing suggested reading. Perhaps start with the basic stuff you could find at any bookstore (like a Barnes & Noble), and then as you get a better idea of what this is all about, you'll turn your attention to the more detailed books that can found in Occult bookstores.
And while you're reading books, start checking out the forum and all the different Paths represented here. Ask questions, and get to know some of the members -- it's much easier to find a Path when you have a group of friends cheering you on. :)
Also, take time to meditate, every day if possible. Just open your mind and sharpen your senses and open yourself to the pull that brought you this far. That pull can show you where to head on your Path if you'll let it.
Oh, and don't be in a hurry. It can take YEARS to find THE Path for you, but that's okay. The journey to get there is all part of the making of that Path -- appreciate where you're at and don't try to change it just because you feel you "have" to choose something quickly.
Blessing on your and your Seeking. :)

How to choose a path? Do I have to read up all the paths? What exactly do you believe in? What are you looking for? What do you hope to get out of it? The answers to these questions are your path. You can read all you want, but until and unless you spend the time needed to answer those questions, you won't really get anywhere.
Maybe you all can share how you have done it?The story of how I found my path is in another thread, here:

Thanks in advance. :)You're quite welcome. Good luck to you.

I use the "k" to differentiate between the real deal and the illusionists, like Daivd Copperfield and Lance Burton. It's nothing I was ever told to do, just a personal connotative thing.
As for path finding? Ask lots of questions, read everything you can get your hands on, and like the others have said, follow your heart. That is the most important part. And always remember that you don't have to follow a defined path. As long as you know what your dreams and goals are, that's half of the battle.

Yep! Read and research, there's no way out of it. Try searching through the MW forums, there are alot of good FAQ's on different religions.

Okay..magic and magick can be referred to the same thing in paganism...People like to go a little further and make it magick to separate it from a magicians type of magic. So...
magic and magick mean the same thing in Paganism..people use what they like. Though magick with the "k" is starting to get more and more popular.
yes...if you want to choose a tradition in Paganism than you are going to have to read up on them all!!! I found mine and knew it was right for me without reading up on everyone. Mine is Wicca...It fits me right..:) It usually doesn't come to people like that and I shame myself a little for not knowing all the other traditions because I don't know if one of them may suit my beliefs a little more than Wicca. The most impt. thing is reading books on Paganism. I went ahead and jumped into Wicca so that was the first type of book that I have read...Here is a site with a lot of traditions..you may have heard of it already...http://www.witchvox.com/xtrads.html The traditions are in the left column. Search them and if one feels right for you then go for it. It's okay if this religion is not right for you..just do what you feel is right and don't let people pressure you into something your not ready for :) Have Fun!
