Hear you guys got a bad heatwave over there?
WATCH OUT!!!!!!!
We've recently had one, and today we've had about the heaviest rain ever seen in August, floods all over the south-east, and TORNADO'S!!! Don't often get them here.

Yup, meanwhile there's some flooding in the US at the same time.
I don't remember the last time we had rain :(

Ontario is being hit bad by heat...almost 100F (35C)
I have been leaving my doors open 24/7 just to get some
breeze flowing through the apt.

It will also have an end.

I can vouche for that. With the humidity it feels way above 100, yesterday I was half listening to the tv and it was 99 degrees F (without humidity figured in)...

Yep...In RI, We're over 100 degree's today too. It rained on the weekend, but, it passed quickly, and didn't break the humidity, or the heat wave. GRRRRRR. It's SUPPOSED to T-Storm here tomorrow night, then be nice and cool for the weekend. But if the T-Storm is bad, or lasts longer than we thought, there is a BIG chance of flooding..or of some fires starting (lightning, things are SOOO dry right now). I'm mostly concerned about the flooding, part, because the town we live in has a dam that is in very poor repair. If it ever breaks, this WHOLE section of town will be flooded out..and I mean...OUT. I just hope for a nice, slow, gentle long lasting rain storm. Goddess knows, I can't endure this heat for much longer!

Not currently a heatwave for us. Just the usual 105F days. But last month we had a heatwave, 120F.
Can't wait for fall!!!

I saw on the news today a town that had a bad hailstorm, had inches of it and looked like snow!

Excuse me? I used to spend all my summers in central Michigan, I don't ever remember cool being the description. Humid as I recall

Its in the 100s here. And Saturday we're doing the Graduation Party thing. My mother is praying for it to be cool. She even asked me the other day if there was something i could do about it (I laughed)....

Rain! We need rain! The grass, herbs and plants are suffering, because I can't be watering everything 24/7! Outside right now it is sunny and humid, not a dark cloud in site!

I think he lied. He said it was raining over Thamesford (southwestern Ontario) on his way home but it's still sunny and humid here.
Time to invoke my ancestors and do a rain dance?

I'll join you in that rain dance, Willow Raven!! They've been promising thunder storms for the capital region for days now, and we finally had a "severe thunderstorm warning" issued for today - only to have it removed around noon. Boo Hoo!!
My apartment is just as hot as the outdoors. If I move out of the direct breeze of my wee fan, I start sweating all over. *ick*
Prayers for Rain,

Severe thunderstorm warnings here for later tonight, I certainly hope so. Right now according to the weather channel our temperature is 40 degrees celsius with the humidex (which is 104 degrees fahrenheit).

I love T-storms!!
We had severe warnings today too, and we sat there at work listening to all these storms circling us in the distance, and they missed us out completely! All we got was the rain.

102 with 32% humidity no rain for so long I think I forgot what it looks and feel like. It is so bad here that the rivers are drying up. One reason why I moved here was for the rain. Rain what rain :( :( :(

You just reminded me of a letter we got at work from someone earlier in the summer.
We'd just been through one of the worst winters ever, widespread flooding countrywide, and widespread panic at work making sure the flood defences in the south-east were maintained.
Then we got this letter from someone complaining because the stream near her house had low water-levels!!! She lived near a flood plain, so must have seen the devastation caused to people living there, and she complains 'cos 'her' stream's a bit low!!
Wonder what she'd make of living where you are??

Its been 90 for a few days in the Catskills of NY. I think its the hottest its been all summer. It seems particularly hard on the elderly.
