You obviously don't have a needle phobia!

And yes , i am slightly worried about the results, but i'm not thinking about that too much at the moment.

Yeah my dad disliked needles years ago too. After you realize you have to give yourself one twice a day for the rest of your life (He was 32 at the time) you get over it :)

At any rate, blessings LadyRowan!

Thanks Willow, that's what i'm being tested for.

Read a while ago that they're testing a new treatment that means no daily injections. Know anything about it?
Maybe it's not ready yet, but looks like there might be some hope for the future.

There's various things, sweety. Pills have been around forever, and now there's even puffers like you get for asthma, as I understand. There are various treatments, if you have it at all right now, that your doctor will discuss with you. Don't assume you'll have to take the needles at all.

I know how you feel and with diabetes so prevalent in my family I know its only a matter of time till I have to get testing like you. Good luck and brightest blessings! :)

Thinking of you sweetie. :)

I do not care for needles either, especially when it comes to
dental work.

Patriarchy had a specific beginning in history.
It will also have an end. :smash:

I used to be the same way. Ask them to use a butterfly needle if they can. Usually painless then, and don't look.

Advice from a reluctent expert.

If you dont have support to give...then dont post.

I hate needles too. (hugs)
Just don't look, and don't think about it too much. In a few minutes after you get in there, the whole needle thing will just be a memory. It'll be gone. So don't worry, hon, it's only a tiny moment out of your life that will be gone in moments, and that's it. :)

Thank you Mol, I did think that myself, but wondered if such a pathetic post deserved an answer?
Anyway, thanks for the support, and it didn't kill me!! The nurse had to do it TWICE 'cos she didn't get enough the first time!
Just got to wait for results, but i really don't think i've got it, can't see it at all.

And thanks to everyone else too, I know it's a stupid thing to be frightened of, same as spiders  , but we've all got our illogical fears.

Ladyrowan, I certainly hope your test went well and I hope the results aid you in gaining good health. Now ... put that soda pop DOWN! ...:D ..

Seriously though, I can greatly empathize with you. I was in my local ER last night with severe chest pains. Fortunately it was not my heart, but my lungs had caused an extreme stress on me and my body was not getting enough oxygen; because of that, I became a human pincushion ... YEE-OWCHIE! I got stuck about 7 times

Needles are just a part of life sometimes.

You have all of the love and support you want.

Lots of continuing positive health to you both.

My son is afraid of needles where I have to hold him down and lay on top of him to get his vaccines. :( My husband is Type 1 diabetic and so is his mom. My kids are high risk and I dread that they might get it someday. They are working on a Vaccine against Type 1, but from what I understand it is not in human trials yet.

My hubby is on an insulin pump and tests with finger pricks up to 10 times a day. My kids love to help him do that, but come near them with a needle meant for them... no way!

Oops, not to get OT, I just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you both.

ACK! I am sorry! I completely forgot that is what you are getting tested for :(

Most people only test -4-6 times a day if that info helps at all. He has to test more b/c of the pump and that his sugar tends to get out of control.

:smash: (that is me hitting myself in the head for being a thoughtless dodo.)

No probs, Chryssi, there's a few in my family, so I know the score.

You can stop hitting yourself on the head now, <<<<<hands Chryssi coffee and aspirin>>>>>>> ;)
