I am currently growing sage, thyme, oregano, chives, parsley, chamomile, rosemary, and lavender. They are all growing well outdoors, except for the fact that we are in a bit of a heatwave here
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I can do with the herbs I have, be it recipes or magical workings. I have some ideas, but I am always looking for more :D Any ideas you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
Brightest Blessings,
D.J.

This is a great time of year to start harvesting your herbs for drying for the winter use. You will find that cutting them now will encourage new growth for your plants. For sage, lavender & rosemary, you can cut the branches & tie them together & hang them upside down in a warm, dry place to dry. If you're in a heatwave, that will take no time at all! For the others, you can dry them nicely in brown paper bags. Shake them a couple of times each day & they will dry quickly.
Sage & Rosemary will make really good smudge sticks. You can also throw the herbs onto your BBQ to give your cooking a nice smoky flavour.

Thank You for the tips!
The other night we had a big dinner and I used some herbs to make a nice marinade, it was delicious! and preparing the herbs made the house smell so nice!!
I think drying them is a great idea, that was going to be my next post "how can I prepare my herbs for winter", because all of them are growing outside.
Blessings,

Sage--can be used as a tea or a mouth wash/gargle
some people are allergic to sage and it can cause mouth irritation can reduce lactation if you are breast feeding, and you should be VERY careful if you are pregnant
also can be used as an astringent
Thyme can also be used as an astringent and some people use it as an expectorant be VERY careful during pregnancy
Parsley is a diuretic and uterine stimulant AVOID heavy consumption during pregnancy
Chamomile of course as tea, the flowers are a mild sedative and useful for fever management
Lavender flowers are a relaxant, and a circulatory stimulant, and a diuretic
Those are a couple of healing ideas!
