The first has nothing to do with paganism, the second does.

First, why does it say "neophyte" next to my name and when/how does that change?

Second, I have heard about "purple magick" from someone who seems rather attached to that "bewitched", "Sabrina the teenage witch" kind of mentality. Has anyone out there ever heard of "purple magick"? Anyone know what it is? Or if its legit?

I, personally have practiced what I call "green magick"- meaning herbs and gardening and so forth. But, that's just what I call it. I've never heard of purple magick. I did ask this question once on another (less reliable) website. I was ridiculed by "children" that are just a bit older than my son!!

If anyone out there knows what this is, it would be appreciated.

Neophyte just means...new...to the site...it goes up different levels as you post. The first change is at 30 posts. It is actually the first level in the Golden Dawn.

As far as the color of Magick...we talk about black and white quite a bit in the Magick forum. Really, the color is a label placed on something that does not require it. Magick is not Black, White, Green, Purple, etc.. It is Magick. The person who wields it gives it its label. A person performing some harmful practices with Magick is just practicing Magick although some might label that as Black.

I have not heard of the term Purple Magick. So I cant answer exactly what the label is supposed to mean. Perhaps someone else can shed some light.

Well, I can't say I've ever heard of Purple Magick, HOWEVER, if I were going to associate it with anything, personally, it would be with healing energy.

I am an initiate of Magnified Healing, and we use the Purple Flame as a transformative force for negative energy. So to me, healing often takes the form of energy tinted purple. Therefore, that's what I would see as Purple Magick.

But I doubt that's what it is meant for wherever you saw it, that's just my person approach
