Hi...
I got online and ordered a deck of Tarot Cards, the Deck is the "Tarot Of The Witches" cards, but I dont know how to use them.. so I was wondering if someone can explain to me the different spreads of tarot... I think the deck came with an explination of the cards... that I am not sure about. so maybe even a deffinition of the cards would be most helpful...

The aeclectic.net tarot site has a good learning section, that has the Fool's Journey story for the majors, and good lengthy descriptions of the minors. Though those go by the Rider Waite symbols, it does give you a foundation of the energies of the cards. There's a thread in the Tarot Portal that has a bunch of spreads in it, along with some beginner advice. Other than that, the only thing I'd suggest is don't rush learning. It's a great experience and one I'm still working on myself.
Hope that helps :hugz:

after you establish a connection with your deck, dont use books to tell you the meanings of the cards, your readings will be so much more detailed and meaningful when use your intuition.

Read through the Little White Booklet that usually accompanies decks. This can be used as a useful "jumping off" point, if you can't seem to draw anything from the card yourself. I started out with "keywords" like the LWB gives. Then I would get more indepth after I had the keywords in mind and it really helps to have something to draw from when you are beginning. So, when in doubt, refer to the LWB to get you started!

Hi Vampy!
I would recommend starting off small with spreads. Most LWBs (Little White Books) only include one spread and its usually a version of the Celtic Cross, which happens to be a difficult spread to read, even if you're not a beginner.
Start off with smaller 3 card readings like "Past, Present, Future" or "Goal, Obstacle, Advice" and things of that nature. They are much easier to handle and you will quickly learn that they are easy to add on to if you feel the need.
Another thing I would recommend is to get a journal and write everything down as you go. Write down what you see in each card (intuition) and write down your readings. These will be useful notes to refer back to as you are learning. I would also recommend getting a good tarot book (78 Degrees of Wisdom, Tarot Reversals, etc.) because these books have much more in depth interpretations than you can get form the LWB that comes with your deck. If a tarot book won't fit into your budget right now (I know mine is tight most of the time) then you should check out www.aeclectic.net (http://www.aeclectic.net) and look for Thirteen's tarot e-book!
Hope my opinions are useful!
Lisa :)

I was lucky enough to take a class taught by two totally awesome sisters. They really taught me alot. I did run into a couple of great books though. "how to Read The Tarot" and How to Use Tarot Spreads" by Sylvia Abraham. They were $6.00 each. They are truly great!
