Im pelased to annouce that Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the clones is the full title for the next Star Wars film,Scheduled for release in 2002.

Attack of the Clones joins The Phantom Menace, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as a chapter titles in the six-episode Skywalker saga. It harkens back to the sense of pure fun, imagination and excitement that characterized the classic moive serilals and pulp space fantasy adventures that inspired the Star Wars saga.

Ten years after the events of The Phantom Menace, not only has the galaxy undergone significant change, but so have the familiar heroers Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padme Amidala and Anakin Skywalker as they are thrown together agin for the first time since the Trade Federation invasion of Naboo. Anakin has grown into the accomplished Jedi apprentice of Obi-Wan, who himself has transitioned from student to teacher. The two Jedi are assigned to protect Padme whose life is threatened by a faction of political separatists. As relationships form and powerful fores collide, these heroes face choices that will impact not only their own fates, but the destiny of the Republic.

I can't WAIT to see the movie, but I absolutely HATE the title!!! Next thing you know they'll have a sheep named Dolly in there!!! :crazy:

I really hope that it's going to be changed - like Return of the Jedi was supposed to be "Revenge of the Jedi." "Attack of the Clones" sounds like a cheesy fifties sci-fi flick with stop motion monsters and a oozy black thing that devours everything in it's path.

But YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway.

I heard the title a day or two ago and couldn't believe it. Then, I started 8O and started singing "Bring in the Clones!"8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O :crazy:

seeing as I used to be a raving Star Wars freak (I had ROTJ memorized, every line, even Jabba's lines, IN HUTTESE), I nearly passed out when I heard the titles.

I can just see claymation lightsabers. It made me think of Weird Al's song "I think I'm a clone now." Is the Atomic Ant going to Attack? Is the swamp thing going to appear, complete with a lightsaber?

I understand this is all nicey nice in the spirit of the old star wars. . . but perhaps George Lucas forgot that in the 70's, those titles didn't sound NEARLY as cheesy as they do now LOL

Anyone here see the 1978 Holiday Special? It was even too cheesy for the seventies. I had remembered it, vaguely, but recently bought a bad copy on ebay. Bea Arthur sings to the Cantina songs, Princess Leia is stoned off her @$$, Luke is wearing so much eye makeup that he looks more like Sandy Duncan, and Harvey Korman pours drinks into his head, is a many armed alien who does a cooking show, and does another lame character. It's just frightening. The best part about it is the cartoon that Lumpy (Chewie's son) plays. It's the first time that Boba Fett is introduced.

I recommend it, after a few drinks, that is.
