View Full Version : elfish music?

Last night, or I should say yesterday am around 4 o'clock, I was reading a book and heard what sounded like music. At first I thought it was from a neighbor's but I got up from the sofa where I had been engrossed in a book, and it seemed to be coming from my air conditioning vent in the ceiling of my living room. Somehow I got the impression of ancient style folk music like lutes and stringed instruments and a lively tune, but it was like it was almost beyond my hearing and I couldn't quite make it out...It lasted for about five minutes.
I felt nothing creepy about it particularly, just felt curious. I thought perhaps it was just something mechanically freaky with the vent, but no sound was coming from any other rooms, and it is not doing that tonight.
Any ideas as to what that was?

Perhaps there are elves living in your air conditioner? :hehehe:

Seriously, sometimes I hear strange sounds like someone tapping on my window but it turns out to be something explainable.

They sure were making happy music! :jamsessio
Anybody got any magic to shrink to go to the airconditioning party so I can dance too if they come back? :whatmewor :ringaroun

Ever since the patch of mushrooms sprang up on my front lawn I've been hearing humming... distant humming. It could be a neighbour humming to themself... but it sounds so soft and sweet and barely audible..

hmm..from what I understand, isn't Elvish tolkien's creation, with elfish being the correct? Like dwarvish and dwarfish. That's what the dictionary said, and spell checker on MSWord :D

heheheh.. heheh...heh i think i mostly remembered that because of people pitching a fit when they saw him mispell elfish as elvish - apparently his american editors changed it to elfish and he got pissed :shhhh:

I think both Elfish and Elvish are correct. Anyway, what difference does that make? We need to figure out what to do about the elves/elfes living in the airconditioner.

As for why they are in there, I guess it is to escape the heat. :uhhuhuh:

Could it be possible that they are - in some ways - the air conditioner?
Technology is still made up of the elements. :)

(i'm thinking i read that tolkien made up elvish - but maybe he made up just dwarvish)

Oop, it can be both. I guess it was the dwarf thing I was thinking of. Ah well!
