The Freedom Quilt Project's Due Date Has Been Changed to December 31, 2001

In the reign of our new President, President George W. Bush,
we are in fear of our religious freedom being taken away.

President George W. Bush said that witchcraft is not a religion, although the Religious Freedom Restoration Act states that it is. It Reads: The federal Court Decision in Dettmer Vs. Landon Supra (1986) Stated .. We Agree with the district court that the doctrine taught by the Church of Wicca (Witchcraft) is a religion.. And reaffirms the original case in 1985 that rules that Witchcraft is a legitimate religion and falls within a recognizable religious category and is clearly a religion for the first Amendment purpose. This is the United States of America, a melting pot, where diversity, free speech, and the right to choose are common phrases. George W. Bush said that he wants to unite the United States of America, not divide it, but taking away our rights and our beliefs because he doese not agree with them. This is not uniting the United States of America, it is dividing it. It is the belief of the Covenant of the Sacred Moon and many other across the United Stated that our President and his appointed aids have no idea of how many Wiccans and Pagans or any other defenders of religious freedom are out there.

LETS UNITE AND SHOW HIM WITH A QUILT....
DESCRIPTION:
The Quilt will be outlined in the colors of the American red, white, and blue. It will be put together with patches sent by solitary practitioners, Wiccans, Pagans, covens, and similar organizations.

WHAT TO DO:

On a 6 inch square piece of material, decorate it with your covens/organization emblem, colors, name and tradition, or something relating to you. (For organizations, please put your state. Solitary practitioners do the same. Leave a 1/2 inch for sewing, if you use paint make sure it is washable fabric paint.

You may also send 1 for coven and 1 each for coven members (they will be grouped together on the quilt with members surrounding the coven emblem, and please use the same color square). We do encourage single piece, for the numbers are what we want to show.

PLEASE PLACE YOUR QUILT PIECE IN A CLEAR PLASTIC BAG FOR PROTECTION OF THE PIECE.

DEADLINE IS JUNE 30,2001

Great Idea!

We Canadians should also make a similar quilt(s) and display
it/them in Ottawa, at the Parliament buildings and at
provincial Legislatures.

Patriarchy had a specific beginning in history.
It will also have an end. :smash:
