August 12-13 Games of Lugh, Peak of Perseids
The Perseid meteor showers peak on this night. The Celts associated them with the light-bearing god Lugh, who is honored at Lughnasad (Aug 1)., and called them the "Games of Lugh "since he is a hero-warrior like the Greek Heron Perseus, and there is great similarity and scholars
compare the two heroes :>
there is a chart here
http://www.ticetboo.demon.co.uk/perseids.htm
some great info here
http://www.skypub.com/sights/meteors/perseids/01preview.html
but some of the predictions are saying the best viewing might be lost to the light of the moon. I am taking my binoculars anyway
