It's a family name that's been in the family for generations. It's supposed to go that every first son of a first son along a certain branch has the first name of Arah. My name is Arah Jeffrey, my father's name was Arah Donald, my grandfather's name was Arah Robbert, on and on back. Sometimes though the family tree branch died along the way and the tradition got transfered to another first son of a first son.

As you could imagine, the name caused a lot of teasing as a little 'un. (Era laundry detergent.) Of course, it also showed just how stupid people can be when they think they're being smart. (Such as being compared to dishwashing detergent.) **L**

I just wish I knew where, when, and why the tradition started. I think it would have more meaning then. I mean it almost sounds like one of those witchy types of traditions, but my grandpa and myself are the only Arahs left alive and neither of us know just why it started, just that it's tradition.

I've grown accustomed to it. It must have been popular about the time I was born, because there was always another Donna in all my classes.
When I was little, my parents always fought about my name. My Dad said I was named after his Aunt, while Mum said that he had no Aunt Donna, I was named after his old girl friend. Last year I found out that Donna was the 'high school carnival ride' in my Dad's class. *sigh*

first, welcome to the boards! :D

second, the little picture under your name (called an avatar) can be done by going to 'PROFILE' (http://www.mysticwicks.com/usercp.php?s=), then 'EDIT OPTIONS'. Scroll down the bottom till you see the avatar section. Click 'CHANGE AVATAR' to set your picture.

The 'neophyte' under your name is like a ranking thingy. You can change what it says by going to 'EDIT PROFILE'. Almost at the bottom is the 'CUSTOM USER TEXT' option.
