It has been suggested that I post my ? here soooo
dreams?
Hi alll..a question please?Since I was very young I had dreams that came true in every particular. The Only dreams I remembered were these. but after I was in my middle teens allof the dreams were about things I could not control or change, except 1, & were always about crisis situations or death. At about 30 I started willing myself not to have these dreams, and I have been successful. Now however, I feel a loss. I think that with better knowledge of paganism I would be able to cope . Does anyone have any insite?
This may not be the appropiate place for this question. If not please let me know & I will post it elsewhere. For some reason I felt I should ask here.
Maggie in Druids thought it might be precognition, but when I did a search the defination I found was "information from distant times" but my dreams always were the future & came true in about 1-7 days.

Well, you have to look at it this way. In astrology "foreign lands" may mean something as simple as driving into the next town or county ~ not that you're necessarily taking the next flight to Germany or whatever. So, "distant times" could very well mean within the next week or two. After all, that is "in the distance". :D

Myself, I've had precognitive dreams since my very early childhood, and have learned to deal with them and go on. Sometimes they play out in the next day or two, next week or two, next month or two ~ or even sometime in the next year. You have a good dose of déjà-vu, or recogize the situation for what it is. You just recognize them for what they are and live with them, or through them. You "deal". Sometimes you can manipulate the "here and now" part of the dreaming, and in so doing change the outcome ~ but it's still interesting to watch things paly out like a come-to-live movie! ;)

Well, I too have had what I call 'precognitive dreams' too. Actually that's what first prompted me to go into my first Pagan supply store, I was going to ask about controlling my, talent (I can't say 'gift' because half the time I don't believe it to be one). I never did ask (the lady was too scary) but I did go away with a book, and it all started from there... not that this is the mb for discussing that....
Anyway, back to topic, if I have a precog dream I wake up with a really strong feeling, nothing like a normal dream and mostly I don't know that it was truly a precog dream until afterwards.
Once I felt a girl in my class @ school die, I say felt because I couldn't actually remember the dream when I woke up, but I knew it was about her and I had a really bad feeling about her. However, I told myself not to be so stupid and it didn't mean anything. I still remember the feeling now. I had had precognitive feelings before, sort of like 'hunches' or a 'sixth sense', but not a dream of that kind.
Anyway, that was the Sunday night, it was a long weekend and I went to school Tuesday morning ( I had slept well on Monday night). Someone came around to all of our classes that morning. She had died on the way to school.
It was one of the most devastating moments of my life. My friends who were sitting with me thought I was going to faint because I had gone so pale. I couldn't tell them either, they wouldn't have believed me.
It was horrible, I felt I should die for not having done something to stop it, not that I could of (I rationalised this ages later). My mum was really good about it, she understood because that kind of ability runs in her side of the family.
I 'blocked' my ift for over a year, and eventually I missed all the little 'pre-warnins' I used to get about things. So I set off for the Pagan shop, but even before that I had started to realise it was a part of me and accept it. Now I wish I could get those feelins more.
The best time I got a 'precog feeling' was when I thought to myself, "I should slow down because there might be a cop after this intersection" and there was! (I had been going quite fast too! (Mind you that doesn't always happen unfortunately).
Well thats my ramblings, sorry it's soooooo long winded.
Blessings

I refer to it as a gift but I also have rarely had anything good come into my view. The one truely good thing that I have seen was I saw my older children in high school. I have known my children since 1984 yet I gave birth to the first in 1987. It was both a blessing and a hardship because I had to wait so long to hold them. I have never blocked my gift and like unlike Merlin my gift came from my fathers side. Unfortunitly it is only the women who get it so he never believed. The one time it was proven he feared so it was something we could never talk about. It was however the only thing his mom and I have in common. Such is life :)

well...Psychic outbursts like precognitive dreams are commonly manifested at a very young age to teenage yrs. It is less common to expirence this without training at older ages. Some good things to do with your dreams is to keep a dreamwork book which is basically just a golrified notepad for me :) . When you wake up to take a few moments as you slowly wake up to metally review the dream try to remember it in as much detial as possible. Then write it down. date it and save it to go over again later.

With your feeling of loss it is understandable you probably blocked them from your consious mind when they became upsetting to you. It will probably take some time and a firm metal decision to unblock the psychic channel. It may also depending upon the strength of the block take soe visualization or trancework work to unblock it.

I was at a class on meditation and among being able to heel alot of things, the teacher said if you meditate at night, your usual way, after you have finished but before you wake up from that state, tell yourself you will remember your dreams in the morning, come out of your meditation and then go to sleep as usual. It might not work the first time but keep it up and you should be able to eventually. Its like training you mind.

Thanks Moondragon for your reply. I am unable to comply with your suggestion of the dream journal, as the only dreams I ever remembered after waking were the ones that came true. You suggested ways to unblock the physic channel. How do I do that?
thanks
patty

How do I find this out?

pattyAnn,
meditation indeed can be very hard to learn. Especialy if you are learning from someone who is well versed in the act. I find it much easier to sort of trick myself into it. I like to just relax and concentrate on my breathing and just think about whatever comes to mind, passivly. Eventually most thoughts will fade away and I almost fall asleep, the trick is to keep from falling off into complete sleep. Not to advocate drug use, but I find this easier to do when I am at the very relaxed state you can get to when you are taking certain medications. Nyquil is great!!! Anything that helps you relax.

On dreams, I don't think I have personally ever had any dreams come true that I know about. I do have a recurring dream were we are the parents of two beautiful little indentical twin girls. They are never babies though..usually about two or three. One is always dressed in yellow and the other in pink. It is a nice dream and I always feel happy upon waking. I would love for this to be a prophetic dream.
