Hi everyone! I'm looking for a bit of help or guidance, thought I would start by making a thread here, in the hopes that someone can help me out. I was cleaning the other day and came across an old journal, and was reading about something I had pushed out of my mind. When I was in HS, a group of us used to have lunch up in one of the 3rd floor classrooms and it faced an intersection with a light. We used to throw food out the window to the squirrels below, and were always looking outside. One day, I kind of fell into a trance and was staring at the light, kept on saying that there was going to be a car crash, became pretty much hysterical. Sure enough, about 5 minutes later there was one. Needless to say, I became an outcast after that. I forgot all about it, probably blocked the experience without even realizing. It scared the shit out of me. I used to have a particular dream before people close to me died. I have an uncanny ability of knowing where to look for lost items. Etc, etc. Does anyone have a certain way that I can hone on my skills, if they are precognitive. I'm not sure if those things are merely coincidences. I would like to find out if I really am, and work on that ability. Thanks in advance, I'm off to do some searching of my own.

First, I think you need to learn to reopen yourself to these abilities.
Meditating, just inviting them in, not being afriad... :whatgives

I never had any control over it. Sometimes I know stuff and other times the lights are out. All I know for sure is if the lights are off to long I start feeling kinds empty and meditating does help start it back up again. I used to hate it(because not everything is great to see) but if its not working for to long, I really feel empty.
I agree with macha, meditate.

Thank you Macha and Shanti! I found a few guided meditations that I'm going to try, hopefully they will help.

My mother also has a specific dream right before someone dies. Most often she is fishing in the dream, or she can see fish.
She isn't afraid of it, she just lets everyone know. She'll flat out say "I had a dream about fish last night" and we prepare ourselves (she has only ever had the dream if loved ones are really sick, and luckily there haven't been any spontanious unexpected deaths to predict). I'm glad you've chosen to meditate. I just found a book called Meditation & Dreamwork by Tara Ward. I would reccomend it. It has moved very slowly, but so far it's been fantastic!
