I have just joined this site and hope there are some on here who are my age.
I am a Crone by age and do not get into any of the "organized" parts of Paganism.
I am Solitary and prefer it that way. I am basically a tree-hugging hippie from the 60's and 70's and a true nature's child.
I adore and love all animals and living things and will go to great lengths to protect all living things. I have 6 cats much to my husbands dismay, 5 of them are strays that have just wandered into my yard and decided they liked the food and water I put out for them I guess because they are now, 5, 2 and 1 in ages. 3 are from a batch of kittens that a mother cat graced me with last spring. The Matriarch of the bunch is my 10 year old girl and she pretty much rules the house.
I pretty much stick to the light side of Wicca. Some will say I'm not a true Wiccan, but I believe that Wicca is what each of us makes of it. I believe it is a personal thing and it is what you put into it that makes it your own.
I was raised in one of the most strict fanatical religions going and was sick and tired of going to a church that did nothing but make me feel guilty for Everything I did. After YEARS of drudgery and soul searching I came back to Wicca. I had dabbled and read a lot of about it years ago, but then was guilted back into church. Finally, I said FOOEY on this Crap and started studying the Theology of Christianity and was OUTRAGED at what I learned. Anyway, not to do any bashing here, I came back to Wicca and loving the idea of a Goddess and a God, and the nature aspects of it all, have stayed here ever since.
I still consider myself new at it though because there is much to learn.
I still have plenty of questions and I think one of the things I wish is that someone would make a Wiccan Dictionary so I would know how to pronounce these Celtic words and other words that are a part of it. Some say Who Cares? how they are pronounced, but I think if you are going to speak to the Powers that be, we should not offend them by mispronouncing their language. Since I mostly go towards the Celtic Wicca, to me this is important.
For instance, how would anyone know that the word deosil was pronounced Jessil?? It is.
I finally found that in a book a while back.
Anyway, anyone want to start a Thread here for Newbies called - Dictionary? (grin)
That's about it for now.
Merry Meet and Merry Part and Merry Meet again....
