This reading has me a bit baffled, particularly the appearance of the court cards in certain positions. I did a reading about my upcoming second honeymoon. Hubby and I are going to explore the Pacific Northwest for 5 days next week. I asked, "Tell me about my vacation," and laid the cards out like this:

.........|3|

|1|................|2|

.........................|4|

1- This is ME on vacation
2- This is US on vacation
3- This tells what sort of experience we will have
4- Clarification card I laid asking if there were any warnings I should know about

The cards I pulled were:

1 - 2 of Wands

This makes sense, because I was the one planning the vacation. I booked it, printed maps and directions, planned some adventures, etc. Seems like I'm going to be waiting for my efforts to bear fruit, and they probably will. I thought this seemed like a positive card.

2 - 8 of Cups

Not so sure about what this one might mean. I have a couple rough guesses, but it's still sort of cloudy.

3 - King of Swords

No clue what he's up to in the "What kind of experience will we have" sector.

4 - Page of Pentacles

This one worries me a bit because it falls in the warnings area, and because we're leaving our two kids with my mom while on the trip. But neither child closely resembles the archetype in this card, so.... Hmmmm!

HELP! :bangyourh

Well, the 8 of Cups is about leaving behind the life you know, so I think it makes alot of sense in that postition. You'll be getting to know each other in a different setting, as well as exploring a new opportunity!

The King of Swords made me think that this will be a learning experience. But not in a bad way. Maybe just a chance to learn something new about your environment and such. Do you plan to visit any museums or anything?

The Page of Pents I think is more a worry about your kids than anything. You will probably be missing them, so that might also be what this card is talking about. Or maybe you have a secret fear that you're behaving in a childish manner about money... are you worried about the cost of the trip and what the effect of that will be on your budget?

Very insightful! :)

You're right--we're going to be visiting a museum. In particular, we're going to the Maryhill Museum, which has a scale replica of Stonehenge. (I'm so excited!) I thought the cards indicated some kind of spiritual inspiration. Maybe Maryhill will be it.

I hope you're right about the "warnings" being more about me worrying than anything. Normally, I don't worry much about the kids when we're away because my mom is such a great babysitter, and they love it at her farm.

Thanks for your help!
