My Site ~ The Wiccan Retreat

This is the community site I did for a msn web group I co-manage. (We had too much content to keep it all at msn, so we decided to move the content to it's own server.)

It's mainly compiled Wiccan based information which is geared twords the basics of Wicca.

That's actually the website for the community... It's a fairly small msn group. Nothing compared to MysticWicks, lol, but we've become quite the family in there. :smile:

I thought it was nice and pretty full of info... but it's all very very Wiccan, and IMO doesn't leave room for one to venture on their own path. For instance the "New Book of Law" I must condemn for saying that women hold the powers of "life-giving". I, and others, believe that only the Great Spirit or theGod#Dess (as a unity) can give new life. It also asssumes the "Goddess" is greater than the "God"... I am not sure if that is common Wiccan practise -- but it is not my own.

And I agree that it's all "very, very Wiccan".... Hence the name "The Wiccan Retreat" *giggles*

Even Wiccans will not all agree with everything that is considered "Wiccan practice"... I consider myself Wiccan, but I also incorporate many different beliefs into my own.

Not a problem, *laugh* .. Thank you for pointing out the "also known as druidry". I didn't realize I'd done that. lmao! Next time I'm in there I'll have to change that.

There are so many traditions out there - and as you may have seen, I have quite a large (not all-inclusive, I'm sure) list of them and a simple definition of each. Perhaps someday when I have time to do some browsing, search through them all and find a website, then perhaps I may add a link them. But for now, my intent was to simply explain a bit about each of the traditions.

Overall, a user friendly site. I didn't take the time to read much of the actual content but my critique of your content would be rather meaningless as I'm not Wiccan. I liked the layout and navigation, the look is gentle and welcoming. The only negative that comes to mind right off is that you don't give artist credit for the images. At least it's not obvious if you do. Even if you did the images yourself, why not let us know? And if you didn't do the images yourself, if you got them off the web, well ...
