View Full Version : Advice from a Cat
Myst

So I was sitting here looking at my cats today - Orion in the sun in the window looking at me, Andromeda on the floor playing with my blinds... and I'm sure Orion looked at me as if to say that humans have it all wrong - egos, pride, self-pity, these things are all unnecessary. A cat loves himself and thinks he's the greatest thing in the world and why shouldn't he enjoy every moment spent napping, playing, or otherwise enjoying himself instead of working or worrying? He doesn't worry if someone thinks he's lazy, or if people agree with his beliefs, or what will happen when he passes on. Instead, he sits in the sunlight or plays with blinds or enjoys a good snuggle.
Isn't that a good lesson to think about?

Well, sure, *he* can think that. He has someone to get his food and water, pet him til he purrs... Cats have it all.
Gah, now I'm depressed. :(;)

I know just what you mean, I often watch my cats and think how simple life is for them, I think we human animals have a lot to learn!
Purrrrr!!

Cats are telling us that we have forgotten how to really enjoy
life.:)

I was going shopping the other day and as I was leaving I could see Bear (my little sweet kittymo) lying in the sunlight and halfheartedly swatting at her tail....when I walked out the door, she gave me a really self satisfied look through her half closed as if to say "I own you...go get my food." Sad thing is shes right. I wish I could live in the sun and not give a toss :D

I swear I'm a cat in a human's body. I see my cats napping in a bunch on the bed, and I join in. We sit and stare into eachother's eyes or pet and knead eachother. I hate working, and cat nap in my chair between customers. When I came home from Los Angeles a few weeks ago, I immediately gave the kitties a treat of their favorite food because I wanted them to think I was on an extended hunting trip. ;)

Is it possible that we need to learn how to take care of our daily stuff and then go into "cat mode" and sit back and really enjoy our lives?
Take the time to go out and sit in the sun and play and be lazy every once in a while. It'd be good for us! The most miserable people I've ever seen are the ones who are always looking for more work to do and worrying about the day to day issues.

Willow and all! I agree with you and laugh and purrr along with everybody :D
My kitties are so delightful and have the best time ~ I too pretend I'm a cat and cuddle and purr (Humm) with them.. every day they are growing so much at the moment (only 2 months old) and learn new adventures and toys to play with all the time! They are getting naughtier by the day too ;)
Id just love to be a cat and see and feel what they experience for one day :D

sure! the books are written by diane duane and are science fiction. the main characters are cat wizards. there are also wizards of many other species (including people. or ehhif in cat language. ;) if you want the people-wizard books check out her young wizardry series) all wizards try to slow down entropy, which was created by the lone power, and they end up fighting her in the end.
i know this is a sloppy summary but hey, it's 8:15 am.
